Yum

Really like the venue, great breeze upstairs and reasonably priced. We got the shakshuka and the coconut roti, choc banana milkshake and smoothie. Staff really friendly and everything is clearly labelled.

Sehr gutes Sri Lankan Rice and Curry

Lecker!

Pros: Authentische Küche , Sehe nette Menschen, Komplett neues Restaurant, alles tiptop

Cons: Etwas leise Musik wäre vielleicht nett

Best vegan restaurant in Mirissa!

After having the homemaid curry at Mom's spices I kept coming back. Delicious homemaid Sri Lankan food prepared with so much thought and warmth.

Madu and her mom run this place together. They have made sure that every vegan (and non-vegan) traveller gets the chance to eat local food and find vegan options for coffee, smoothies and smoothiebowls.

Had a cooking class with Mom herself. Really small group and you really had the chance to ask and try in a way that makes one feel like you can actually try making the food back home.

Don't miss out on this place!

Pros: Vegan options for all drinks and food, Cooking classes in smaller groups, Madu and her Mom are such great hosts!

Hidden gem with great vegan options

Moms Spices restaurant is a lovely shaded and clean restaurant down a quiet street (easy to find if you follow the sign). We had the curry with rice, curry with coconut roti and a passionfruit smoothie for lunch. This place is well priced and everything was fresh and tasty.

They know what vegan means and can also alter the food to your spice level (which is so helpful for someone like me haha!)

They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner and have Sri Lankan food as well as western food (like smoothie bowls, avocado toast, pancakes etc)

The owner and her daughter are really friendly and the service was excellent. Would definitely recommend if you are visiting Mirissa!

Pros: Many vegan options, Can tailor to your spice levels, Wholesome and filling

Delicious food, can be made vegan

Came here several times while in Mirissa, and this was easily my favourite spot in town. It's a tiny place in the home of a lovely family. It's a little out of the way, but there are signs pointing you in the right direction.

The menu is small but straightforward, and the choices available are all solid. The chef understands the concept of vegan, and most dishes can be made so. The kottu was my personal favorite, but everything I tried was delicious, filling, and sold for a fair price. I can't really say anything bad about Mom's Spices, except that it's not fully vegan.

They also offer cooking classes, which I did not try, but I was chatting with some other folks who did it (a fully vegan version, no less!) and they spoke very highly of it. I also got to try their food, which made me wish I had done it myself. Maybe next time!
