Great place, big pizza - Edit
The vegan Pizza was delicious and one was more than enough for two people. We also couldn't resist and tried the pastel which is not vegan (homemade chocolate, cream cheese and condensed milk) but also tasted great.

Delicious custom made vegan dishes - Edit
Henrik is the owner and chef of this place and we went out of his way to prepare some vegan dishes for me. He made a vegan pizza, a vegan noodles with vegetables dish and a vegan sandwich for me and they were all delicious!

This place has been open for less than a year and is still being developed. This is shown in the current layout of the place which can be improved. Also the seating is to be improved which Henrik acknowledged but that comes with the place still being relatively new. All in all, the food was delicious every time I went there and that is what is most important.
Pros: Delicious food, Friendly staff, Convenient location
Cons: Limited seating on plastic chairs, Menu is predominantly non-vegan, Restaurant setup is still being developed

Herbolarium offers freshly made pizzas and sandwiches that are delicious and reasonably priced. They make their own sourdough and add other wonderful ingredients. They have plenty of vegan and vegetarian options. Additionally, if you have time to wait, the wife and husband team create daily specials out of what they have to hand which are remarkable. Truly a delight in this small mountain town.

Entertaining hosts and a great vegan pizza unlike any other - Edit
Boqueta is a unique place. Restaurants like this add to the funky character, this one in particular. Vegan pizza is often a compromise but you've never had one like this. No fake cheese or meat, just handmade crust with baked in pesto, organic tomatoes and many other kinds of veggies and unusual toppings like coconut sponge. No two pizzas are going to be the same because the supply of fresh veggies can vary and the pizza maker is a food artist. They do sell other non-veg items but if the demand for vegan options increase, they will probably listen to suggestions.
Read moreAs a treat, try the cocoa beverage. They ferment and cook local cocoa beans and make a drink with just water that is unbelievable. Just cocoa and water. Highly recommended.

Delicious food & kind owners - Edit
Must go restaurant in Boquete. I ordered the vegan pizza and it was so delicious- pesto stuffed crust, loaded with veggies as well as an herbal tea. The owners are incredibly kind, I ended up walking into what felt like a family dinner and loved it. There are also vegan options on the menu and the chef, Henri, is so passionate about healthy food- he’ll ensure you leave very full and happy. Will definitely be going back during my stay in Boquete.

We not just had one of the Best (vegan) Pizzas ever, Made out of surdough, prepared with love and time (that you can Taste!), loaded with super flavourful veggies, salads, herbs and pesto in the crust 🤤. We also had a super delicious herbal tea, good conversations, an awesome „desert“ (coco-sponge caramellised, Not vegan bc of the Honey But sooo good) and just a good time.

Must try the vegan pizza! - Edit
I would have given this place 5 stars if I was able to on Happy Cow (only 5 stars for veg restaurants). This is probably one of the most flavoursome pizzas I’ve ever eaten, made with beautiful ingredients, each one adding a distinct twist. The crust was perfect and stuffed with ‘pesto’ which was a unique flavour within its own right. Highly recommended!

Very interesting place. A bit of a thrift shop vibe, nothing like a restaurant. But don’t let the place fool you, here is someone creating the most interesting pizza one’s ever had. Sourdough pizza with some (charred?) veggies from the oven, then loaded with salad, herbs, veggies, flowers and more. A true explosion of different tastes that come together perfectly. This was for sure not just a bunch of veggies, but a thoughtful creation!

I don't usually offer reviews unless significantly deserving either good or bad. The owner, a Danish expat is very knowledgeable and conscious about healthy and good food that contributes to good health. It is an informal place and conversations with the owner and his happy, ever smiling, and affable Columbian partner add flavor to the food. It is not strictly vegan, but as the other review mentioned, the vegan pizza is fantastic. It varies depending on what vegetables and other ingredients are available. It is not loaded with fake meat, fake cheese, and other disagreeable ingredients - just crust (sometimes with vegan pesto in it) and vegetables. One evening he experimented on me and made 4 (difficult to name so just name it yourself based on the photo) vegan whatevers. It was delicious. Do yourself a favor, socially, gastronomically, and healthfully and have a meal - and support healthy delicious food.
