Excellent!! - Edit
We were seated promptly and looked after with water & menu’s.
Read moreThey have a separare vegan menu if you ask for it, (most can be gf as well) no signage anywhere but I knew they did from here☺️
Absolutely delish waffles, i had the strawberry comes with coco yoghurt, i could have had more for free if needed they let me know.
My husband had the apple crumble pancakes (non vegan) & was very happy with them.
We also had an iced oat latte & a very good double espresso. Excellent food & service, i was so happy that I could find somewhere that could accommodate me.
Pros: Amazing service & food

Lots of options! But definitely not the best pancakes/waffles I’ve ever had - Edit
If you give ice cream, give a spoon with it. Ask for an extra shot if you order coffee.

Delicious pancakes - Edit
There is a separate menu for vegans both sweet and savoury options. You can have pancakes or waffles for the sweet options or pancakes, waffles, white bread or sourdough for the savoury options.
Read moreWe both chose sweet pancakes. I had vegan choc hazelnut with strawberries and ice cream. My partner had the apple pie pancakes. The pancakes were thick and had a nice flavour to them. I liked the toppings too. My coffee was nice.
Pros: Decent vegan menu
Cons: Dubious vaccination stance, Co-opting pro choice for their dubious vaccination

Pancakes were ok - Edit
It was good, but I’ve already had much better pancakes. But I’m happy to see all the différent vegan options that they’ve got!

Great breakfast spot in Cairns! - Edit
Helga’s Pancake House has a great vegan menu with sweet and savoury options! They also have vegan ice cream and plant based milks so they have a great milkshake selection as well! We went for the sweet pancakes and were very impressed! The pancakes are quite thick (see pictures) but this place gives you a full bottle of maple syrup for your table to drown them with.

Several sweet and savory pancake options. I found the pancakes to be quite dense.

Yummy, filling, sweet, pancake goodness. - Edit
Seperate vegan menu with lots of choice. Pancakes were filling with sufficient toppings. Maple syrup on table for copious use. 😋 Slightly on the pricey side.

Average pancakes from an anti vax venue - Edit
The pancakes were okay, just average. There were a lot of vegan options and a seperate menu which was quite great. The pancakes were more like sponge cakes cooked in a cake tin rather than actual pancakes. Toppings were quite good though. Unfortunately they are strongly anti vax and we’re spreading messages we weren’t comfortable with. We were sat near a wall of anti vax posters, with claims they’ve been ‘abused’.

Cons: Was more like eating an average cake, Antivax

Wow “Antivax” nasy comment and totally dismissive and ignorant of anyone who stood up for their own rights! Freedom to choose for all!
Read moreYou really didn’t need to add that to your review as it isn’t relevant to a food review!
But it does make me more inclined to support them as they obviously have had some back lash for their personal choices.

Seperate vegan menu that was easy to find on the counter, heaps of options! Delicious, only problem was they were served on paper plates which im guessing is some sort of covid thing.

Extravagant! - Edit
There is a dedicated vegan menu offering a range of savoury and sweet pancakes, and waffles. You have to ask for the menu, or go get it yourself if the waitress forgets (as mine did, very busy and distracted). The pancakes here are not traditional thin pancakes; rather they are thick as two planks, fluffy, sweet, and taste strongly of buckwheat. The first pancake is delicious, the second one becomes a bit of a slog. Next time I'd wrap the second one up for later. They really go the extra mile to match the vegan version to its non-vegan counterpart. My vegan pancakes had two flavours of chocolate chips, ice cream, and even a vegan marshmallow. It looked identical to the non vegan version that my friend ordered. They can also make any of the smoothies on the menu vegan at no extra cost.
Read moreEdit: I came back here and tried the waffles and they were out of this world!! We also met the owner (her name is not Helga, oddly enough) and she made sure to tell me that all the milkshakes on the menu can be made vegan too. A vegan will never feel left out when dining here!
Pros: variety, outdoor seating, gluten free options
Cons: american style pancakes, long wait
