Blown away taste buds - Edit
One thing was clear after exiting Hearth: I regret not coming here earlier. I've tried some fine vegan food, but the food here was among the finest.
Read moreUpon entering, you're professionaly welcomed to the atmospherical restaurant, where a DJ is playing some live ambient music in the back. Attention is paid to the smallest details, from the art on the wall to the colours and materials used for the interior and lighting. It's as if they want to tell you: this is a safe space, sit down, relax and we'll take care of everything.
The waiter introduces himself at the table and explains how to have the best experience. It's clear there's no rush, which is a good thing, because everything on the menu sounds mouthwatering. This is not going to be an easy choice.
With four other people in my company we had the opportunity to share all the starters and all the mains. All the dishes individually are simply mind-blowing, but it was the sushi (both the 'mexican' and the beetroot variety) that did it for me. I ordered an extra portion of it instead of dessert after my main: a charcoaled ravioli with shiitake mushroom and furikake. Complex flavours and textures are explored in Hearth's dishes and everything is completely balanced out. It's one of those restaurants that make salt completely unnecessary. Other mains that stood out were the amaranth cutlet with green curry sauce, lentil ragout and the king oyster mushroom scallops.
Satisfied we stepped outside into a cold winter night. The temperature was below freezing point but inside us a humble fire was burning, ignited by the warm ambience of the restaurant and the fine dinner we just experienced. This is a restaurant that is going to stay with me for a while and also one I would definitely return to. Recommended heart(h)ily

Fine dining in capital letters! - Edit
I had my surprise dinner here tonight, and it was beyond delicious!! We had the tasting menu, where you get a wide variety of different foods (starters, main courses and desserts). The athmosphere was warm and te waiters were super friendly! The foods were like little presents, with a explosion and variety of different flavours. All presented super nice! Really enjoyed every bite! This restaurant is really what fine dining is about, we will definately go back here again! 100% recommend!

Lovely food and original flavours - Edit
The colours, presentation and dls pues were spot on and we found the sushi very original, tasty and striking - only downside I suppose is that it’s on the pricey side but definitely worth it for a treat!

Lovely food, nice place - Edit
We were here with friends for a Sunday lunch and had the tasting menu, 55€ pp.
Read moreGreat value for money. A combination of appetizers, and desserts (see photo menu, the eggplant was not included), and we could each choose a main dish.
Mains:
- charcoal ravioli with shiitake mushrooms, teriyaki sauce
- broccoli gnocchi sundried tomatoes, cashew garlic cheese, potato chips
- red noodles ramen and nori broth, soy and mushroom caviar, salicornia in tempura
The food was absolutely delicious! Great combinations, great flavours, original dishes, really superb!
Very friendly service, and we didn't have to wait long between courses.
Combination of bench and chairs (with armrests). Although there were some cushions, was not super comfortable.
Minus point:
- toilets are super small, bigger persons would have trouble getting in
- didn't see an accessible toilet
- having to transfer a 10€ deposit per person when making the reservation.

A lovely experience with service beyond compare - Edit
My spouse and I, who have been vegan since 1991 and 1990 respectively, had the most wonderful of experiences at Hearth. We went there for our 34 year anniversary and were so delighted with the welcoming and warm encounters we had. We felt so special by the personal interactions. The service was truly beyond compare. The food was inventive and visually marvellous. We had the tasty green curry coconut cauliflower soup and they even anticipated our sharing, separating it into two bowls. This gesture reveals how attentive they are to their patrons. We had the Mexican inspired sushi that was innovative and delicious. We then had the Black Charcoal ravioli filled with shiitake mushrooms and the King oyster mushroom scallops. Both were delectable. We highly recommend this terrific vegan restaurant and we will return again and again.

Beautiful Vegan - Edit
I loved everything about Hearth: the service, the very creative vegan menu and the experience! It was a memorable vegan dinner, I won't forget. They brought us a pickled cucumber with spicy tahini to start and two blue spirulina sushis as a complimentary way to get the meal going. Such a nice touch!
Read moreWe had:
Starters - Mexican sushi which is delicious
Main Meal - Black charcoal mushroom ravioli with a nori wasabi spice and the aubergine gnocchi; both incredible.
Desserts - Lemon curd with strawberries and the chocolate tart; both delicious.

The restaurant is not in a area with a lot of other restaurants. But you will not be disappointed. Fancy place with good and tasty food and friendly staff. Only the prices are a little bit to high.

Good food, but pricey - Edit
I used to live 10 minutes away from hearth but never went there. Main reason being you pay a lot for nice food (which is presented nicely) which basically doesn’t fill you up at all. I’d gladly pay 5 euros less for not-blue pasta with a lot more veggies. Dishes are good but most have a better equivalent in Amsterdam, there a better places to be for pasta, sushi etc. Staff was very friendly

Mouth Melting Apps in Cozy Spot Off Beaten Path - Edit
All the food we tried was excellent, but the appetizers in particular were mind blowing. We worked our way through drinks, starters, appetizers, soups, and main dishes. Short version: excellent food, vibes, and music. It's the kind of place you'd want to go to on a really great date or with good friends.
Read moreIn reply to complaints that I've read in other reviews: we were right under a speaker and the music was not too loud. Portion sizes: our portion sizes were excellent! We left not with a belly hurting because it was so full, but more a solid-warm-belly comfort level of full.
Long version:
I had the Indigo Magic mocktail, which was a melange of sweet notes mixing with spirulina. The combo was sophisticated.
We also had the bread with aioli and olives, which was good, but the eggplant appetizer was smashing! The dish consisted of eggplant, bulgar, black tahini, and kale chips. Each bite was creamy and flavorful in a variety of ways.
The Mexican sushi was the only thing that could top it. Each bite was heaven; light and amazing. The chipotle mayo elevated it to a whole new level.
The broccoli gnocchi with a sun dried tomato sauce was very creamy and also evoked some subtle savory notes.
The waiter brought us a strawberry and almond crumble at the end of our meal--it came with mandarin curd bubbles and creme. Like many vegan desserts in Europe, it was less about being heavy and sweet (as so many America desserts are) , and more about lightness, freshness--layers of airy perfection.
The service wasn't fast--but I think it was about on par with other places in Amsterdam where the pace is relaxed.
The restaurant was so cozy with off-white, natural textures, and warm lights. The music gave off an international lounge groove.

This is our second time here, with non vegan friends who were very impressed and happy with the food!
Read moreDelicious and interesting dishes. Very good service. Cool atmosphere.
I really recommend the quinoa sushi and the jalapeno starters, the oyster mushroom dish and the kind of blue tagliolini.
It was also nice to discover reasonable non-alcoholic wine.
Points for improvement: It's nice that they have a dj for the music, but it's a little too loud for a restaurant where you actually come to converse. About the buckwheat gnocchi dish - I think the plating should be different, it resembles dog food right now...
Pros: Interesting food!, Great service , Easy parking nearby
Cons: Expensive , Music a little too loud
