The place was cute... It was a little restaurant/shop combined. Don't expect to do any major grocery shopping done here! The food was just ok and I don't have much more to say about it. All said, it was nice to find a vegetarian meal though.
This is an excellent place to eat, with a nice service and great vegetarian food. I have been there already twice, each time with a different plate on the menu, and both were delicious. I love the idea that the menu changes every day.
Don't miss this place if you stay in Lyon, but be careful : it's only open for two hours at lunch time.
This little restaurant and epicerie is a perfect, down-to-earth haven for vegetarians in Lyon. While they only serve lunch, the owner, a gentle and attentive lady who has been running the business for 7 years, cooks a new "assiette vegetarienne" every day. The food is all organic, fresh, creative, and beautifully colorful.
When we went on a weekday in August, our assiette consisted of a green salad topped with shredded carrots, black pepper, and a tangy sauce; green bean and beet salad; cucumber-yogurt sauce; lentil salad with what tasted like bitter orange; and the piece de resistance, wild red rice mixed with fennel and creme. It. Was. Amazing. Everything was perfectly spiced to be flavorful, but not overwhelming as Indian food can sometimes be. The price for the amount of food - 9.50E per place - was a great deal, and we (two often-desperate-for-protein American vegetarians in France) felt satisfyingly full afterwards.
The ambiance is relaxing and quaint, with two small outdoor tables overlooking the street and several tables in the dining area behind the epicerie. The owner provided some of the best customer service we've had in France, meaning that (among other things) she actually asked us how everything was after we'd received our food. In addition, she seemed perfectly willing to alter the entree for vegans.
The epicerie itself has a small but well-chosen selection of organic and vegetarian snacks, produce, cereals, etc. There were several soy products available, including burgers, yogurt, and tofu.
While it's not in a central part of town, it's definitely worth the trek on the metro (stop: Jean Mace) to enjoy the Harmonie!

A.few tables, with a shop. A nice veg (often vegan) meal well served. A quiet place, rare in this area of universities.
