I had multiple things here over 2 visits in June and everything was great and best of inexpensive. Highly recommend, especially since there aren't many vegan options/places on the island.

All vegan, what a find! - Edit
Fully vegan restaurant! Not the fanciest of places, its basically a snack bar with some classics and a daily menu. Vegan deserts and the azores tradicional bolo de levedo made vegan! Nice staff and fabulous prices! Worth the visit for sure!

I really enjoyed eating here at happy veggies. Jessica the lady who owns it is so lovely and I had a long chat with her about veganism on the island and her activism work. I ate the seiten and vegan chorizo sandwich, which was tasty. Then I had the local delicacy - a sweet doughbread covered in cinnamon - and their homemade ice cream which was delicious, Coconut cream and passion fruit with date sauce 😀
Read moreI'm visit ponta Delgada again soon and will definitely be stopping by again! They have quite a varied menu and not expensive! I only paid 14 euros for 2 brownie takeaways, ice cream, doughbread, main and a fresh juice.

Went here without expecting much since hubby and I both eat vegan and are gluten intolerant and from the outside it looked like they focused on pizza and hot dogs. But their menu has so much more and we had several amazing meals. The food is so good and the desserts to die for. We were well catered for despite our gluten intolerance and some of the things we had, like marinated konjac root and chocolate mousse, are some of the best things I’ve eaten. I want to bring this place with me home! The host is so, so nice!

Fantastic 100% Vegan place with a very intersting owner! - Edit
My girl and I have been trotting the globe (non-stop) for many years now. We finally saw the 'vegan' light a little over a year ago, and haven't looked back since. In having gone vegan in late 2016, we've had the pleasure of visiting countless vegan restaurants all over the world. We were surprised to find (what turns out to be the only) this 100% vegan restaurant, in the Azores. We weren't expecting any legitimate options during our trip here, so this... was a very pleasant surprise.
Read moreThe menu is sufficiently extensive to warrant daily returns, if you're here for a week or two. All the essentials are here: seitan, konyaku, vegan burgers, vegan shrimp, and plenty of others. The food leans more towards 'fast food', but it's delivered with sufficient quality to pander to fitness nuts like the two of us. Plenty of non-fried options, and again- all vegan. Desserts are also available- and again, all vegan.
However, what really impressed us about this restaurant, was the owner. A young lady, of Portuguese origin, who grew up in Canada. She was kind enough to share her story with us- what led her to become vegan. It's an inspiring story that lends significant credibility and legitimacy to this new restaurant. Learning a bit about her background/career, prior to her becoming vegan, makes you want to support this restaurant, all else aside.
Considering the solid variety of vegan food here, and the owner's genuine passion for the vegan way, this place is a no-brainer for every one among our rapidly growing group. Whether you're merely curious about plant-based food, are a die-hard vegan, looking for something to eat that wasn't begging for it's life a few hours earlier, I recommend this restaurant with full accolades. I also recommend engaging with the owner a bit: she knows her stuff. Leaving here, not only will you leave nourished and well fed, but also feel content in having met a very interesting owner with a fantastic story to share.
When we visit Azores again, this will be our default go-to place for food.
Ah, and the prices? Negligible. A few Euros for many dishes, and I believe the biggest/priciest dish on the entire extensive menu was a mere 9 or so Euros.
Pros: Fantastic Prices, Charismatic owner, with a great story to tell., Plenty of options on the menu. 100% vegan.
Cons: Location - but we didn't mind the walk at all.

Little cosy restaurant, good value for money, delicious food. We tried chimichangas, hot dogs and nuggets, everything was perfect. Pineapple and basil smoothie will knock your socks off. Cinnamon and cookies ice cream makes me want to plan my next holiday there just to have it again.
