Lovely place - Edit
Hallogallo was my first experience using HappyCow. How lovely it was. The place is really small but with a really cool decoration and nice music that sets the mood. The food was great and the bartender was really nice and we got to talk a little. Definitely go if you are around.

Good hot chili! - Edit
The bowl of chili really hit the spot during the winter evening like tonight! I wasn’t too hungry and just wanted a hearty snack to get me to bedtime. They have events, so check their schedule and you might enjoy getting to know some other foreigners!

Cute, fun all vegan bar! - Edit
On my most recent trip, hallogallo was one of my favorite places to eat. High praise, but worth it!
Read moreHallogallo is located in Nakono, which was a place I hadn't visited on my two previous visits to Japan. Not far from a lot of big hubs, but then again, not as much of a tourist destination either. However, once you get over there, you'll find that there's plenty to keep your eyes, ears, and tastebuds entertained.
While not on the ground floor, Hallogallo is easy to spot as there is a sign outside indicating they have 100% vegan food inside. Yay! Then it's a quick walk upstairs to a pretty tiny space. It's one of those looks like it could have been someone's apartment bars. Mostly there's not a lot of table space, but we scored the one that was available near the window.
Hallogallo's food menu isn't incredibly large, as it's really more of a bar snack situation. However, they do offer an "everything plate" that includes all of their bar snacks and in a portion that is perfect for dinner. Each one of us got this and were wowed as we worked our way through each food item. It featured pickles, meatloaf, cheese, and more. All were incredibly delicious.
As for drinks, beer options were pretty sparse (expect your normal Japanese rice lager), but my friends raved about the cocktail options.
All in all we had an excellent time and will definitely be making a point to come back next time we're in town!
Pros: Adorable, Friendly owners
Cons: Would love to see even more food options

Warm welcome - Edit
Really comfortable welcome, had a nice chat with the owner. Was a very interesting for us since she uses vegan chocolate from my home country Austria.
Read moreIt’s amazing how the owner prepares the food since it seems there is no kitchen. Food portions could be bigger in my opinion.

Amazing food and service - Edit
Found this on happy cow after being caught in the rain looking for somewhere else. Seriously amazing food nice cosy place to dry off. Some servings are a bit small but it's mainly for light meals. Mostly the menu ranges from ¥500 to the platter which is ¥1300 and Includes one of everything. Great food and great service.

Great cocktails - Edit
Came here on a rainy night and it was the perfect place to dry off and enjoy some tunes while snacking and sipping on some drink. Knick-knacks are ornamentally placed everywhere, and they have an arched window overlooking the alleyway. They have plenty of soy meat foods (maybe about 3 items on the menu) so it's great to take your Omni friends even.

Shared the dinner plate, with a bit of all the dishes available. Vegan cheese, meatloaf chili very tasty, the spicy fried chicken made from soy meat and the hummus quite good too. Nice cosy psychedelic atmosphere and friendly staff.

I'm so happy I found this place-- hallogallo turned out to be close to our AirBnB, and we stumbled in super jetlagged and hungry. I had a fantastic vegan White Russian (with almond milk). I shared the vegan meatloaf with gravy, sweet chili "chicken", baguette, and a Greek salad (olives, sun-dried tomatoes, and the most delicious vegan feta) with my partner-- the portions are small, but the food is amazing and perfect for accompanying a few drinks. The owners speak English and had some great suggestions for vegan food in Tokyo. If we had more time in this city, we'd definitely be back!

Life-saver in an area full of meaty izakayas! - Edit
HalloGallo is upstairs in a warm, eclectic little space. Looks like it seats about 10 people. The theme is British and the drink menu is extensive, you can even get Pimm’s! We enjoyed the cider, chilli chicken, chilli & baguette and the hummus with crackers.
