Serves meat, vegan options available. Chinese food menu, also offering vegetarian dishes with different faux meats. Open Tue-Thu 11:00am-9:30pm, Fri-Sat 11:00am-10:00pm, Sun 12:00pm-9:30pm.
Good mock-meat and quite a selection. I see old reviews that say they are not vegan. But I believe they’ve changed since then because now some items say “contain egg” and it’s mostly the items that are battered/breaded. I still specify some things to be sure (like no egg/fish/oyster sauce in fried rice, etc)
They have a full vegetarian menu - it’s not included in the main menu, ask if you need it. I’ve tried their Szechuan tofu, veggie Kung Po “chicken,” and veggie wonton soup, and all were great. The lunch combos are a little over $6 each, and they include quite a bit of food. I got two meals out of my dish! The staff is incredibly friendly, and the place itself is quite cozy.
Wait staff was nice and confirmed all of the mock meats contain egg and that all of the sauces except white sauce contain oyster sauce, so even the vegetarian menu is NOT vegetarian. I ordered tofu and mixed veggies with white sauce. Very few veggies but the sauce was good. Tons of tofu but they deep fried it in the oil they use to fry meat products. Vegans should specify steamed tofu to be safe.
They were very friendly. I agree with the reviewer who indicted it has a "mom and pop" type feel. I agree with the reviewer who indicated it's basically vegan junk food but it's a good option for a treat.
This place is one of the real "Mom and Pop" chinese restaurants. Large portions, Great taste, and Quick and Friendly Service. I'll be going back again and again! The menu covers two large pages, with a dozen or so items in each catagory. Five Stars !!
I read about Guo's Garden on Happy Cow and was anxious to try it out. I was really pleased with the options. The entire backside of the menu listed MANY vegetarian entrees, appetizers, soups, rice, etc. They also have meat items on the front of the menu. They have free delivery to the surrounding area too (with a minimum purchase of $16). Overall, I loved the place and can't wait to try it again. My favorite two things I have tried there so far - the vegetarian wonton soup and the vegetarian spring rolls!
guo's has both veg and meat items. ask for their veg menu. great lunch special of vegan spring roll and an entree with fried rice for under 6 bucks. basically, a vegan version of cheap chinese take out. pretty delicious. most items are not the "healthiest" due to the sauce, but they offer steamed items if you so desire. cheap and excellent. the veg items are strict vegetarian. they use a lot of gluten as the meat replacement, which works great for their mock chicken and beef, and falls short for the mock pork. hunan beef, bean curd in garlic sauce, sesame chicken are all winners.
