Difficult to do Vegan here - Edit

Wait staff was nice and confirmed all of the mock meats contain egg and that all of the sauces except white sauce contain oyster sauce, so even the vegetarian menu is NOT vegetarian. I ordered tofu and mixed veggies with white sauce. Very few veggies but the sauce was good. Tons of tofu but they deep fried it in the oil they use to fry meat products. Vegans should specify steamed tofu to be safe.

Pros: Courteous waitress

Cons: Oyster sauce used in most dishes, Mock meats contain egg, Tofu is fried in non-dedicated fryer

A good Vegan Option - Edit

They were very friendly. I agree with the reviewer who indicted it has a "mom and pop" type feel. I agree with the reviewer who indicated it's basically vegan junk food but it's a good option for a treat.

Pros: Good Price, Conveniently located, Friendly

Cons: Not the healthiest

Not the best... - Edit

I've eaten from here twice now, the first time i tried the kung pao "chicken" and sesame "beef" and the spring rolls. the spring rolls were the best part, but thats not hard to mess up on. The chicken was small pieces of mushy "meat"..but the veggies in it were good, even celery! The sesame beef was a "jelly-roll" type of mock meat...the sauce was good though!
Even though we were dissapointed with Guo's, we decided to give it one more chance since it was so close and had so many veg options..
We tried the general tsos "chicken" and the "chicken" with brocolli. The meat was the exact same as the "beef"..jelly roll and mushy.. and I honestly couldn't even eat it. The general tsos was a little better because the sauce was good and it was fried.
Sorry Guo' would've been really convenient.

Pros: close by, a lot of vegan options, spring rolls

Cons: mock meats are all the same, and they're not that good

Best Vegetarian Chinese in the area! - Edit

I read about Guo's Garden on Happy Cow and was anxious to try it out. I was really pleased with the options. The entire backside of the menu listed MANY vegetarian entrees, appetizers, soups, rice, etc. They also have meat items on the front of the menu. They have free delivery to the surrounding area too (with a minimum purchase of $16). Overall, I loved the place and can't wait to try it again. My favorite two things I have tried there so far - the vegetarian wonton soup and the vegetarian spring rolls!

Pros: lots of veg options, good prices, quick service and delivery

Cons: inside is a bit run down

delicious - Edit

guo's has both veg and meat items. ask for their veg menu. great lunch special of vegan spring roll and an entree with fried rice for under 6 bucks. basically, a vegan version of cheap chinese take out. pretty delicious. most items are not the "healthiest" due to the sauce, but they offer steamed items if you so desire. cheap and excellent. the veg items are strict vegetarian. they use a lot of gluten as the meat replacement, which works great for their mock chicken and beef, and falls short for the mock pork. hunan beef, bean curd in garlic sauce, sesame chicken are all winners.

Pros: great seitan/gluten, cheap, fast, friendly

Cons: fortune cookie not vegan
