Calming, kind and delicious

The atmosphere was so nice, saburo or sabu chan is a beautiful dog who just loves to be pet. And he has no issues being cute to get some donut (with permission).
The owner is one of the kindest people and she creates an amazing atmosphere and just amazing food. My friend and I devoured it in no time, you can tell she loves her food.
Yes you have to make a reservation but I messaged her the day before we went and we had no issues. She replied on Facebook in English. I don’t know Japanese and had no issues with booking and talking to her.
I think everyone should experience this beautiful place with the beautiful owner and sabu chan.

Couldn’t eat here - need reservations for lunch !!

I was nearby so I passed by but there was a dog and was closed the owner lady came out she said needs reservation ... so it’s not like a regular restaurant or cafe you have to have a reservation!!

Thankyou Hisami & Saburo!

My partner & I decided to go to grain & veggie diner nabana on a day we had planned to go check out Kobe and I'm so glad we did!
As suggested by happy cow we contacted Hisami through Facebook in English to make a reservation for the Nabana lunch two days before and we got a quick response.
When we arrived we were greeted by Hisami and her lovely 13yr old dog Saburo, and welcomed into the cute & thankfully warm restaurant in a small street not too far from the train station.
The food we were served was delicious, thoughtful and a lot of it made from homemade ingredients. Hisami showed us the shoyu she makes with the help of the neighbours and a local farmer.
We had lovely coffee and dessert and were shown a beautiful homemade kimono and had a lovely chat with Hisami.
There was obviously a lot of pats with Saburo - or "sabu", and he even got a couple of pieces of donut as Hisami assured us it is okay because they are made from tofu. Delicious.
Thankyou Hisami for being so welcoming and showing us your wonderful produce and fantastic meal. We'll see you again next time

Pros: Delicious food, Lovely owner, Pats with Saburo

Yummy lunch and wonderful atmosphere

We had an amazing time having lunch here. Hisami was so friendly and wonderful, she made us a delicious lunch and showed us some of the ingredients she was using, and taught us about the process of making her own shoyu (she took us outside to show us where it’s made too!) Another highlight was meeting (and sharing some donut with) Saburo, the owner’s sweet old dog. If you want to go to lunch, it was very easy to contact Hisami via Facebook to make a reservation.

Pros: Delicious, lovingly made lunch, Wonderfully friendly owner, Patting Saburo (the owner’s sweet dog)
