The server didn’t know what ‘Vegan’ means?

The sign in the window said vegan, there was another sign in the shop that said vegan yet the man behind the counter kept saying “no vegan”. He didn’t seem to understand what it meant and I didn’t want to risk getting the wrong thing so I left.
