Excellent Asian in Center - Edit
Fills up but popular for a good reason, I had the 42 with many delicious mushrooms, mushroom sauce, great rice, a nice touch of ginger. Super well seasoned and delicate. Pleasant space and nice staff. Hope to come back some day!

I went with my non vegan friend to show her how yummy vegan food can be. Unfortunately Gao was the wrong decision. The waiter was rude, they didn´t have an english menu card and the food was not great either, I would call it average though. I was so disappointed after seeing the good reviews. Im also not happy with the restaurant calling itself vegan with tons of vegetarian options. Thats a big no go for me.

Great tasty food, served in a beautiful manner in a restaurant that has a cozy and charming outdoor area. A must in Leipzig! We had n.1, 19 and 45 (all vegan) and were so happy, really great experience.

We had a great lunch at GAO. The food was freshly prepared and with a lot of veggies and greens. It was seasoned well and presented beautifully. The service was quite fast and staff friendly enough. The price is moderate - a main dish about 12-14€, starters 5-8€.

Leckere Limos, Essen enttäuschend - Edit
Vielleicht lag es daran, dass wir an einem Freitag Abend da waren und die Küche mit all den Bestellungen überfordert war. Der Papayasalat hat nur nach Gemüsebrühe geschmeckt und war kaum kaubar, die Pho war geschmacklos und die vegane Ente auch eher enttäuschend. Die Limos waren einfallsreich und lecker (wenn auch sehr süß). Vielleicht gebe ich dem Laden nochmal eine Chance, wenn es nicht so voll ist, die Bewertungen sind ja sonst ganz gut.

Gutes Essen in miserablem Ambiente - Edit
Meiner Meinung nach, sollte zuallererst an dem Geruchsproblem gearbeitet werden - wenn wir nicht reserviert gehabt hätten und nicht so viel Entdeckerfreude an neuen veganen Optionen mal gemütlich, wo essen zu gehen, wäre ich postwendend wieder umgekehrt. Es hat im ganzen Lokal nach Ammoniak gerochen. Der Servicemitarbeiter, der unsere Bestellung aufgenommen hat, war sehr sehr unbeteiligt, es gab weder eine Begrüßung, noch eine Empfehlung, noch ein Lächeln, geschweige denn eine Nachfrage. Wir mussten lange warten, ehe das Essen kam - was an sich okay ist, wenn das Essen dann schmeckt - und es hat wirklich sehr gut geschmeckt - aber es war so so kalt im Restaurant, dass wir dann mit Schal und Jacke gegessen haben und vollkommen durchgefroren, nach draußen kamen. Im Sommer, wenn man die Türen offen lassen oder draußen sitzen kann, dann mögen all diese Probleme viel unbedeutender sein aber mit unseren gemachten Erfahrungen kann ich das Restaurant leider tatsächlich nicht weiterempfehlen.

The restaurants name includes hte word "vegan" and it is also visible on the front of the restaurant. Yet, it offers several non vegan dishes. The "Specialities of the house" section in the menu has just one vegan option I believe.

Sehr leckeres Essen, große Speisekarte, große Portionen, viel Gemüse. Ich hatte Nudeln mit Frühlingsrollen, ein eher langweiliges Gericht, da gibt es bessere, trotzdem lecker. Sehr ausgefallene Fleischersatzprodukte. Preise für Speisen angemessen. Getränke allerdings sehr teuer.
