CLOSED: Fresh Choice - Howe Ave

I generally love eating at these Fresh Choice places. They are way better than the Soup Plantation / Sweet Tomatoes. There are two in Sacramento, this one on Howe and the other at the Arden Shopping Mall. It's been a year or so since I've been to Howe, so I stopped by today for lunch.

The first special salad was Kale and roasted vegetables, cool! Except they totally forgot to put any kind of dressing or seasoning. It was just thoroughly raw, chopped Kale, tough as leather... hmmm. The Caeser Salad is typically another good choice... but this one had been sitting out a little too long. Hmmm, moving on.

They have this spicy hummus which is generally very good, except today. It was missing one, maybe two ingredients, really it was not good. And the pita slices served next to it were hard enough to crack teeth. Whatever, on to the hot bar.

The veggie pizzas, again, typically quite good. These weren't. They were nearly cold, gross.

You know what, this is starting to get depressing. I'll continue to go to the one up at Arden, but this place on Howe has developed some fundemental problems.

This Fresh Choice is much like the others in the chain. They have cheese pizza, salads, pasteries, soups and fresh veggies for side dishes. It is a clean family oriented place to eat lunch or dinner.

The prices are reasonable and you certainly get what your moneys worth.

The sign in front is very big and hard to miss. Its located on Howe avenue (a few blocks north of Fair Oaks Blvd). Enjoy!
