Surprising - Edit
We were so surprised to find the Stewart Island 4 Square to have so many vegan food stuffs. It has way more than than 4 square we stocked up at in Bluff before we caught the ferry. Wish we had waited! Plus the prices were no more expensive than the mainland 4 Squares.
Read moreThey had fresh vegan sandwiches, clearly labelled, in the cabinet. We bought one - $5 a good price and it was full of salad and mustard and quite tasty. Vegan ice creams (So Good tubs plus Magnums) vegan bacon, sausages, burgers etc. I did not see vegan cheese or yogurt. All other basic supplies (crackers, breads, froz veg and fresh) available too.
Probably the most vegan friendly 4 Square in New Zealand!
Pros: fresh vegan sandwiches, lots of vegan groceries, no more costly for being on an island
Cons: no vegan cheese
