Lovely place to spend the day - Edit
My partner and I were very fortunate to find ourselves living in San Mateo Acatitlan for the summer--a picturesque getaway just outside of Valle de Bravo. While lovely, there are only limited eateries and, of course, even fewer vegan/vegetarian options, which left us trying most places in the area--one of our favorites was Folklore! First, the restaurant itself is gorgeous, offering beautiful views of the surrounding mountains--my partner and I loved to settle in and take in the daily thunderstorms from their exceptional patio/terrace, spending often hours there working, eating and getting lost in the scenery. As for the menu, it offers a handful of options that were thoughtful, delicious and satisfying: from the grain bowl with jocoque, to the vegetable hummus toast and cauliflower tacos to the lentil balls with vegetables, we always left delighted by the food and grateful for the attentive, accommodating staff and management. If you like it spicy, try their salsa picante--it's so uniquely tasty!
