Good cashless fast food vegan 🌱 joint - Edit
Great position near Smithfield market and smack bang in the centre of things in those parts.
Read moreLovely welcome from friendly staff and quite a few options that are a bit more healthy.
It’s a good concept and trying to make people look at the alternative flipside to meat.
The lady was so friendly & helpful. It’s a hard place for a plant based offer as the rent will be high, I hope they can survive. They work so hard.
Great effort to be creative with plant based city living.

Nothing special - average burger - Edit
I went here today based on the reviews and I must say I was quite disappointed. The burger tasted like those frozen vegan ‘chicken’ burgers you get in the supermarket. The milkshake was £5.50, and it wasn’t cold and again tasted like something someone makes at home. In fact the smoothie was overly peanut buttery in taste and had the consistency of a smoothie, not a milkshake.
Read moreI love supporting vegan businesses but this place didn’t have anything to write home about. Just an average bog standard burger place. Personally I won’t be back as there are far better vegan burger places in london at the same price point.

Good burgers and shakes - Edit
Flipside is a little fully vegan fast food restaurant with a range of takeaway options as well as tables and booths for eating in. The menu changes depending on time of day, with burgers being the main draw in the evening. You enter and order on a screen, then get your receipt to pick it up from the counter. The service was fast and the staff very friendly and helpful, but I did find it a shame that the menu online had more options than were actually available, and lots of items were out of stock.
Read moreThe burger was tasty, as was the slaw I ordered alongside it, and the shakes were deliciously thick and creamy, especially the peanut butter one. I would definitely visit again and hope to try some of the other burger options.

Ok food - Edit
Ok food. Maybe we unfortunate but our Mac and cheese had two hairs in it. When we brought this up no action was suggested to remedy the situation. Disappointed.

not bad, but there is way better vegan fast food - Edit
We had two bowl and one burrito. It was not bad, but I would not come here again, if there are other options. The salad in the bowls was a little bit dry, even though the dressing (you get this in a small plastic packing). The rice and the vegan chicken was really good, the other things were not that nice.
Read moreGood if you're looking for a fast and more healthy lunch, but for tourist I would not recommend it.
The staff ist very friendly.
Pros: friendly staff, low prices, burritos, bowls, burgers, mac n cheese, etc
Cons: a little bit dry salad, not that clean, little bit low quality

Beyond Burger - Edit
Great music. Fun diner feel. Delicious food. Get the Beyond Burger. But don’t bother with the bacon rashers. Fries are a generous serving. Go hungry, leave satisfied.

Superbowls really tasty! - Edit
My wife and I had two of the superbowls (Reds and Greens, and Naked Cali). They were delicious. Big portions, very tasty and pretty healthy too so that’s a bonus. We shared a portion of chips (which are air-baked) and they weren’t that great, and for £2.50 we thought the portion was a bit small. Sunshine smoothie was excellent, but also on the pricey side (£4.50).
Read moreAll in all, would definitely come here again. The burgers looked good too, but they don’t seem to have Mac n cheese on the menu anymore which is sad.
Pros: 100% plant-based, Lots of options
Cons: Smoothies expensive, Chip portion very small

Mediocre fast food - Edit
Had a mediocre chipotle burrito here because I was in the area. It's loud and busy, but staff are friendly. The burrito was broken in the middle, looked like they had accidentally cut part of the tortilla and thought it wouldn't matter if wrapped in paper.

Great value - Edit
The Grab n Go salads look fab, and a very reasonable price too. We decided to eat in, and ordered the Mac n Cheese and the Beyond Burger. The Mac n Cheese was great, really enjoyed the extras on top! The burger and fries were OK, a bit on the cold side, but still tasty and a bonus that the fries are air fried. Quick service.

Delicious fresh food with generous portions at a great price - Edit
I eat work lunches here fairly often and it is a better option than all other places nearby, even for omnivores. Very good salads and burgers especially. Prices are very good for Central London and portion size is generous. Service is fast and you can also pick up premade salads and sandwiches. The staff are very friendly and happy to explain things.

Plant-based/Vegan and Allergy Friendly - Edit
This place was recommended by a friend and I was a bit sceptical by their online info, but when I arrived the massive 100% Plant-based glass door and white and red (and blue) interior, was incredibly inviting.
Read moreThere's a sign for 100% Vegan, signs about allergy info (I'm lactose intolerant) and there's this cool phone booth seat downstairs where I could make a business call. Free water, loads of power sockets, clean, smells great. All the food looks amazing, I had buffalo cauliflower, then decided to order a burger and chips. A-maz-zing!
Pros: Yummy, friendly and good quality, 100% Plantbased but otherwise very mainstream, Extra signage to explain 100% vegan
Cons: I wasn't aware sooner, needs more advertising!, It could be more overtly vegan, It's not closer to home!

Tasty plant-based dining in Farringdon - Edit
What a lucky find! This is very close the Farringdon station, and it's a welcome change from the many coffee chains in the area. The menu has quite a lot to choose from, and the staff were so helpful when I asked about food allergies. If you need a quick bite or something to go, or just want to try a different plant-based venue, keep Flipside in mind!

Salads and sandwiches to go - Edit
Helps to fill a bit of a gap on the London vegan map around Farringdon.
Read moreQuite a selection of sandwiches, baguettes and salads in the chiller cabines. My "fresh five" salad was nice enough without being exciting. I also had the blue cheese dressing as an add on which made it a bit more interesting.
Prices seemed fairly comparable to other onmi chains in London.
Updated September 2021
I've visited quite a few times now, normally to get something to takeaway for breakfast/lunch. There is lots of choice but I particularly like the breakfast bowls.
