Delicious food and amazing service - Edit
I went here for a meal with friends and was delighted to see vegan options for every course. I had the sweet potato and chickpea curry suet pie and the then the amaretto poached pear for pudding. Both were delicious and filling and the service couldn’t have been better.

Enjoyable - Edit
Was here for an evening meal.
Read moreThe menu had a few vegan labelled options, one starter, two mains, two desserts. Wines on the menu were also labelled vegan.
I didn't have the starter, maple roast squash wedges because I was opting for the lentil and "ale" pie with sweet potato and squash mash, served with braised red cabbage. I found this the dish to be tasty. The "suet" topping was a little crunchy but didn't detract from my enjoyment. I followed this with vegan rice pudding and stewed plums. The other main was a burger, moving mountains brand, and the dessert was ice cream / sorbet
The food overall was good and the service was great. Waiting staff couldn't be faulted. I have to admit i was a little apprehensive how service was going to be given previous review but I can't say I had that experience.
Price wise, 15 to 16 pounds for a main is what I'd expect for type of restaurant in this area.
Pros: Wines labelled as vegan, Staff, Atmosphere

Nice to have vegan options - Edit
I visited Fennel while on holiday with my non-vegan husband. It was nice to be able to go to a non-vegan restaurant and have more than a salad as a vegan option.

Excellent vegan options - Edit
We had the vegan Vietnamese rolls, BBQ pulled mushrooms with delicious toppings in a sourdough bun, and vegan lemon and raspberry Eton Mess - loved it all and reasonably priced! Will definitely visit again.
