Fine - Edit
Rice with some vegetables mixed in for $22. I could achieve the same end at a Thai restaurant for $8. Also, Gnochi is never vegan, so that doesn't work either. Spoke to the servers and they stated the Gnochi was impossible to make Vegan.
Read moreLovely setting though. In Napa the Meat is King, so I suppose we should be thankful for anything.

Eminently Forgettable - Edit
Ate here years ago and found it overwhelmingly "meh." I can't even remember what I had, but it was pretty boring. And the air was so full of noise, not to mention meat smoke, that I quickly realized I would not be visiting again. You can find far better and more interesting vegan food at Himalayan Sherpa Kitchen or, in Calistoga, at the Thai Kitchen, Pacifico, or even Checkers or Bosko's. By the way, the introduction is simply wrong when it says the gnocchi can be made vegan. No one is making vegan gnocchi except vegans themselves.

Cons: Very limited, boring animal-free options., Extrremely noisy., Smoky.

An oasis in the valley for vegans and vegetarians. - Edit
This is a menu heavy on meat and dairy like so many others in the area, don't get me wrong, but the ease with which my wife's gnocci dish was made vegan- without the visible blink of an eye by the server or kitchen- was so refreshing. Additionally, there was another dish on the menu that could have been made vegan... and what's of no small significance: the vegan prepared gnocci was delicious. My wife also thoroughly enjoyed her cocktail- a greyhound- an all time favorite. Great overall experience. Busy and fairly high volume but very well run.

Not to be contentious, but I agree with Pasadena4's statement that gnocchi cannot be "made" vegan except perhaps from scratch. There's certainly no way it can be converted to a vegan dish "without the visible blink of an eye." Cheese is an integral part of the recipe. Sure, you can find recipes for vegan gnocchi on the web but I'll bet as much as you want that they're not making it that way at this place.

I have to disagree/clarify the dish and my understanding of traditional gnocchi. Cheese is not a fundamental component of gnocchi dough- the main thing one would have to be concerned with in the dough milk and egg. The cheese came into play in this offering only as regards how it was to be topped off. If they lied about their gnocchi preparation, that would be unfortunate and disappoint but it is certainly not impossible to make such a dough with non-dairy milk and without egg.
