I was really excited to try the vegan shawarma as that's something you really don't see every day and can't buy in the supermarket. Unfortunately they didn't have it that day, so I had the falafels instead. They were delicious and a pleasing green colour. The pita was spongy and soaked up a bit of the liquid from the salad and sauces.

Edit: I've become a regular here and its apparent that he never offers the vegan shawarma or even half of the items on the menu. Just falafel or meat. He says its because when he had the other options, no one ordered them. Whatevs, the falafel are enough to keep me coming back. I always feel good after eating here and if I miss my weekly falafel date I feel all sad and unfalafeled.
The falafel fella is a charismatic man for sure. Ask him to show you his falafel toss, if he hasn't already.

Amazing food and customer service - Edit
This falafel place is easily the best restaurant in its area due to the exquisite food, welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff. The venue itself is decorated to display the theme of that middle eastern aesthetic which goes hand in hand with the food. The food has blends of spices and flavours which combine perfectly in your mouth. The staff are genuine and generous with their kindness. We need more veg restaurants like this

He doesn’t listen to orders and hand hair in the falafel. - Edit
I stopped going after asking for no olives and receiving them. Also he doesn’t like adding or taking off things, he makes it the way he makes it if you like it or not. Every bite I went for I found a piece of his long hand hair. It has honestly ruined my desire for falafels ever. That one experience ruined me for falafels for probably the rest of my life. 😞. Love that there’s no meat options. So I will give them that.

The BEST falafel you’ll ever try 🙌🥙🕊💫 All made fresh and super tasty. My partner and I often find an excuse to drive up from Cairns (30min) just to eat here! Soooo damn good 🌿🌟

the guy at the little stall offers samples and is suuuper friendly and outgoing! the falafel is delicious and portions are good! of course it's a little messy if you get it in the pita pocket, but there's space to eat and napkins provided. it's also next to a little ice cream place w/ tons of vegan sorbet options for dessert!

Fully agree with all the other reviews, best falafel I’ve ever tasted! The mango curry sauce tastes amazing and the falafel balls are made fresh as you wait, free taste test offered before you buy also. Owner is charismatic and entertaining which is an experience in itself. Do not miss this gem of a place when in the vicinity, even if you think you’ve seen everything Kuranda has to offer it’s worth going again just for the falafel😋
