Vegetarian/vegan options - Edit
The place offers some options. I have tried vegan burger which was overall great. I'm not sure the bun was really vegan (I found it somewhat cheesy, maybe it's just my perception) but there are some pure vegan options for sure. Choose wisely as people in Dar don't really understand why we are vegans so they don't take it seriously, with full attention to all ingredients. Overall a cozy place. Can recommend.

Best vegan burger I’ve had in Africa - Edit
Their burger is on a seitan basis and by far the best one I’ve had while living in Africa. Very recommended!

No Vegan Cake - Edit
On this app it says that there is an optional vegan cake at Epi D’or. Do not be fooled. None of their desserts are vegan friendly which I had to learn the hard way.
Read moreMy friend took me here for my birthday because they read that there is a vegan cake, which of course had me very excited as vegan options in Dar are so limited, especially desserts. After getting there we noticed that none of the desserts were labeled as being vegan so we asked the woman at the counter. Since she wasn’t helping at all I had to ask her one by one “is this one vegan” (I explained to her very clearly what vegan means) and eventually she just asked the baker to come out to talk to me. The baker pointed at two of the cakes and told me those two are fine for me to eat. I asked again just to be sure that there’s no dairy or eggs in either of the cakes, which she assured me was true.. well we got both cakes and ate them. Later I was certain that I’d consumed dairy because of the crash and horribly upset stomach that I experienced.
My friend called back the next day and we talked to a manager that informed us that both of those desserts were full of milk, cream and eggs. We asked why it was advertised then that there are vegan options and he said it was because they used to have a vegan cake nearly 2 years back, but that it didn’t sell well so they discontinued it and haven’t updated that description.
This was my first time mistakenly consuming animal products after going vegan and I’m very disappointed and frustrated with Epi D’or. If it wasn’t one of the only handful of restaurants with vegan options in Dar I would never return.
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Dishonest staff, Lack of updates on the app, Rude

There are some vegetarian options on the menu, the food is fresh and tasty and especially the hummus with bread is really good. The staff is very friendly.
