Great local option with familiar options or new twists

Ephesus serves meat, but has "broken out" vegan options available. The imam bayildi (eggplant), falafel, baba ganoush, soslu patican, hummus, pita, red lentil soup, Jerusalem Salad, and Shepherd Salad are all vegan as-is. Other salads and items can be ordered vegan. Staff is familiar with vegan orders and will accommodate. The falafel and baba ghanoush (or babaganoush if you prefer) are superior or equal to any I've had anywhere. The imam bayildi - like an eggplant steak - with peppers, pistachio and raisins was very good, but ask for a light touch on the oil... also surprisingly it lacked some salt. We also thought the pita was average - from a package and a little dry (but it was good dipped in the delicious lentil soup). We feasted, though, mid-state on Thanksgiving day, and I'd go back for the falafel and baba ghanoush.

Pros: Vegan literate, Great baba and falafel, Holiday and late hours

Cons: Lots of meat on the menu (potential cross), Not in a hurry, Some language barrier
