Fantastic Vegan Pizza! - Edit
Often said to be one of the best places for pizza in Pittsburgh, let alone vegan pizza, Ephesus does not disappoint! We ordered the vegan supreme and the vegan BBQ chicken pizza and we loved both of them. The crust is a real standout here, doughy and soft and never burnt! The supreme was pretty much the decadent classic you're used to, with mock ground meat as well as lots of chunky, crunchy vegetables like onions, peppers and olives. The BBQ sauce used on the pizza here is very sweet and very smoky with nary a hint of spiciness, so go for it even if you're wary of spicy food. And did I mention the pizza is also great cold? (That's how it's done in Pennsylvania!) It's a little messy when hot but truly excellent cold the next day. On our first visit, we didn't get to try some of the other dishes on the menu, most of which have a more Middle Eastern flair, like the baba ghanouj platter and vegan baklava for dessert. But it's still cool to know they're there and that this place has a good amount of options despite not being fully vegan. There's not a ton of space to sit down and get comfortable inside, but I get the sense Ephesus is mostly takeout focused so that's not a huge concern. The space that they do offer is certainly well lit and inviting. I do wish it wasn't quite so expensive and/or small portions for what you pay, but it's not prohibitive. And lastly, I think this place would really knock it out of the park if they just cleaned up the menu a little bit, visually. It would be great if it was easier to see which items are vegan at a glance--though it isn't too hard to find something awesome

Good pizza! - Edit
I got the vegan ranchero and it was delicious. Not sure what they use for their vegan cheese but it wasn’t as plasticy as some other vegan cheese can be. Really fast service too - wasn’t waiting too long for my pizza.

Perfect junk food - for when you don’t care too much - Edit
I order this pizza when I am at work and don’t have better options and it’s great but it’s expensive and not very customizable so I always end up getting something I ALMOST love.

Delicious Vegan Pizza! - Edit
We ordered a medium vegan chicken ranchero and a large vegan supreme. This was more than enough food for a family of four.
Read moreI enjoyed both pizzas! The chicken ranchero had these crispy seasoned potatoes that balanced the chicken and ranch dressing wonderfully! The supreme was just a nice fully loaded pizza. It had the perfect amount of toppings and cheese.

Many options and really really good - Edit
This was honestly some of the best vegan pizza I’ve had, especially the genovese-pesto since it wasn’t super cheesy like some vegan pizzas are. Chicken ranchero was also pretty good, very interesting. The vegan walnut baklava was a bit too sweet, but glad they had the vegan dessert option anyway.

If you like thick crust - Edit
Really loved the raised doughnut-like crust. Ordered the vegan cheese, pesto, fresh tomato, and vegan chik’n. Pesto quite oily but combo tasted good. Super nice proprietor.

Super good! - Edit
I got the vegan Buffalo chik’n and added vegan ranch on top. It was very good, my wife (Omni) thought the chik’n was good! I was happy with the amount of cheese, I feel like some places skimp on vegan cheese because it’s not great but the follow your heart was great! Good seasoning too and friendly staff.

Too much! - Edit
The pizza looked good, but there was way too much cheese on the pizza. I got the personal vegan with onions, peppers, black olives, and mushrooms. The taste of cheese overpowered all of the veggies. My kids at the regular cheese pizza and loved it. That is the only reason I gave them 3 stars instead of 2.

Horrible - Edit
Overloaded with cheese, not enough sauce, the vegan sausage was inedible and the vegan chicken was rubbery. I would not recommend
