Veg Mex - Edit
El Jardín is one of the better vegan Mexican restaurants I have tried. We ordered a burrito, taco, club sandwich, and esquites. All of the food was amazing. The vegan cheese and sour cream were delicious, and the veggies were fresh. The owner was very friendly, and it seemed like he was running the place by himself, so I was impressed by how quickly our food came out. During the short wait, I found myself watching other orders as they were packed and wanting to try other menu options. Not the restaurant’s fault, but the parking was a bit difficult as it’s all street parking, but that is typical for the area.

Disappointing - Edit
Seco would be the word. My tacos were dry. My tamale was so over cooked that it was crunchy. I don’t even know how that happens. I really wanted to love this place, but I won’t go back. I would give it 1 star but happy cow won’t allow it.

El Jardin de Nada - Edit
Maybe it was an off day, but they were out of everything we tried to order. They were out of tempeh, soyrizo and water. The server was kind, but hay nada in terms of the things I wanted to order. Also, there was no bathroom and no place nearby to use one. I ordere esquites and it was yummy, but the burritos were blah.

Delicious vegan Mexican food! - Edit
Oscar is super friendly and helpful and turned out delicious food (El Surfo burrito, panko onion rings, and potato rolled tacos) very quickly! So glad to have this all vegan restaurant in SD. Love that there are a couple outdoor tables/chairs too. I'll definitely be back! #Veganuary

WOW!!! JUST WOW!!! - Edit
So coming into town I was surprised to see how many vegan options San Diego had to offer compared to Northern California where I'm from. The photos caught my attention as well as how extensive the menu was with multiple options to choose from.
Read moreThis small but mighty restaurant has some outside seating but we (My friend and I) took our food to go. We ordered both a burrito each, a Turkey club Sandwich and 2 smoothies. By far since going vegan almost a year ago I have never enjoyed a sandwich as much as I have here at El Garden The Vegan Paradise. This sandwich could have fooled me as it took my taste buds out of this world. The texture of the protein isn't the same as real meat but for someone that really wants an amazing meat alternative this was by far some of the best alternatives I've tried for Plant based meats.
The burritos also were great, I got the California Burrito and by the time I finished it I was in food heaven. The portions are amazing and very competitive. Not sure why its rated 2 out of 3 $ as the prices in my opinion as extremely reasonable even if it wasn't a vegan restaurant.
The owner was extremely friendly and patient, he was explaining that they used to be a hybrid restaurant prior to the new year and made the full transition to vegan as of 2023. This made me so happy to see a small business make such a big move where I want to return back and support.
In all honesty the food, beverages, service was amazing. I don't have any complaints to say. Very polite owner, food was amazing and very homey vibe coming into this restaurant.
Parking is available in neighboring streets and easy to access to.
Definitely will be visiting again when in town and before I leave.
Thank you to El Jardin The Vegan Paradise for such an enjoyable experience.
Pros: Amazing Food (large portions as well), Huge Menu to choose from, Very Polite staff
