Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:
I am an ethical vegan. I went vegan for animal rights, but I also feel that being vegan is not enough when taking environmental concerns into mind. One must consider that tofu grown in Iowa, that is processed, packaged in plastic, and shipped to Hawaii, while vegan, is not the most responsible food choice for all of the creatures of the earth, most of which are completely at the mercy of how human choices will heal or kill our environment. I say this only as a suggestion. I recognize that we are on this planet for a short time and this planet will eventually be consumed by the sun in a time that is but a blink of an eye in the universe. It is up to each individual to choose for themselves what level of commitment they are comfortable with and allow that to change as they change and grow, hopefully to have greater peace in their mind and more empathy for their fellow creatures.
