Tasty Peruvian food on the main square - Edit
El Jardin has clearly labelled vegan menu items and explains where needed. Communication with staff was sometimes difficult, as we do not speak Spanish but we managed!😄Came back during our trip due to location and convenience.

Breakfast by the main plaza - Edit
Although my hotel offered a free breakfast, I decided to go here instead during my short stay in Cusco, and I'm glad I did. This is a cafe that's overlooking the main plaza. I had a Avana Energetica bowl that was delicious.

Delicious, clearly marked vegan options. My boyfriend had the vegetarian carbonara and I had the vegan gnocchi. The gnocchi was undercooked and more like mashed potato, but it was still absolutely delicious. Highly recommend, we will be back.

I wish I had taken photos of my food—it was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. I ordered the Vegan Sunrise, a flavorful combination of tofu scramble with sautéed onions, creamy guacamole, and tomato chutney, served with house-baked bread. My partner chose the oatmeal, which came with seasonal fruit and Andean cereal.

I can’t recommend it enough to anyone visiting Cusco.

Yummy el jardin lemonade was great.
The staff is super friendly, and it was fun to hear the chef training new kitchen staff on how to make the vegan dishes.
I made a mistake and ordered a vegetarian dish thinking it was vegan and they were very responsive and quick to accomodate - I really appreciated it.
One drawback: we were always too full to try the desserts! Next time...

Had to find somewhere for breakfast after arriving in Cusco early from a night bus, this was a great choice. The place has very pretty decor, an interesting light sculpture takes up the ceiling.
Read moreMy partner and I both had the “vegan sunrise” breakfast plate which included house-made bread, tofu scramble, tomato relish and avo, plus a coffee with non-dairy milk. Everything on the plate was perfectly prepared, it was quite simple but oh so tasty! Was also really happy to have my first tofu scramble in ages, as it’s not very often on the menu in these parts.
Pros: loved the breakfast plate, very central location, lovely decor

We came here for breakfast on our first morning in Cusco. The food was tasty and fresh. Portions were huge - way bigger than I was expecting. I'd only wanted something light, so I went for the porridge, but I was full til the evening.

The service folks were very kind. Karen served me more than once and ensured of vegan options and allergies. The menu is pretty big and all is labeled really well. The coffee was delicious and even a coffee chilcano 🤎 beautiful drinks and right on the main square in Cuzco!

Vegetarian restaurant with vegan options (mostly) clearly labeled. I had the Andean pasta which was really tasty, I just missed some protein source since it's basically pasta with veggies. For dessert, we shared a blueberry cheesecake and it was amazing! So beautiful and delicious. Not too sweet, tastes like a healthy dessert but a really good one.

Maybe the staff was tired, still 2h of opening. But they recommended a vegan lasagna, which I accepted, and the chef mocked me. Unfortunately, they don't know the difference between vegan and vegetarian and it is clearly false advertising on the menu. The staff seem confused as well. I had, unfortunately, a very bad experience.
