Be careful with the scorpion sauce - Edit
We went for lunch and it was full to the gunwales - mind you, it was the Fiesta de Santiago, so I guess half of Gipuzkoa was in town. All we could have was pintxos at the bar, which was more than acceptable: samosas, croquetas, papas bravas, that kind of thing. We booked a table for the following evening, and I have to say that the pintxos at the bar were better.
Read moreA word of warning, though: the papas bravas comes with a selection of the usual sauces, like mojo rojo. Don't do what I did, and eye up the scorpion salsa on the bar. It's made by some sauce company in Mallorca.

Next to the scorpion was habanero, which was marked as 7/10 for piquancy. I tried that; it was hot. So, then I tried the scorpion sauce, which was rated 9/10. I tried that. It was eye-watering, and needed to be washed down with two large bottles of Konig Ludwig weissbier.

Amazing vegan food by the sea - Edit
Absolutely loved this place, the ambiente is really relaxed. We were three people, I was the only vegan, but everybody loved the food! They are the best vegan/vegetarian restaurant in Hondarribia and, although as far as I know also the only one, they do this title justice. Super impressed!

Worth the detour 😊 - Edit
After I had a hard time finding decent vegetarian food in Spain, we decided to take a detour to Hondarribia to try out this restaurant, which was definitely worth it. The staff was really friendly and helpful and were willing to translate the menu for us. Their avocado tartare was to die for, as well as their wine 😊 I also enjoyed the tacos and the strawberry/banana popsicle. Should I ever travel back to this region, I'll definitely swing by this place.

Amazing beachside restaurant - Edit
Found this out on Happy Cow while on a roadtrip and decided to stay in Hondarribia for the night. That was a good decision because the food is amazing and you're next to a beach that is much quieter than Donostia or Hendaye. I tried the samosas, the thai rolls, the tacos and a cake and it was all... well, amazing! Definitely the place to go if you're in the area (and even if you're not!).

We had a great lunch here. The food was delicious! I highly recommend the malai kofta and please order dessert! I also really liked the style. Very nice ceramic plates and bowls! As we alte in quite a few vegan/Vegetarian Restaurants in Spain in the last few weeks, I found it quite expensive in comparison to others. Especially patatas fritas for 7€... still recommendable though!

I looked this up on happycow and got the bus over from Irun for this place. Oh, so worth it. I had really struggled to find anything vegan in Irun and the food here was heaven. Plus Hondarribia is worth a visit and I would never have known. Hope I get to go again and share it with others.

They call themselves a vegetarian restaurant but 90% of their menu is vegan and SO good! Definitely try their mushroom balls, they're to die for. Reservation is a must in the evening.

Nos atendieron muy bien, el lugar es muy mono, el baño es un poco incomodo pero nada grave. Nos gusto la comida, el ceviche de berenjenas estaba muy delicioso y nos sorprendieron algunas texturas de los tacos y el mole. Lo unico que personalmente no me gusto fue que la tortilla de trigo de los tacos se puso aguada por la salsa y los rollos primavera THAI porque no tenian vegetales y eran fritos, luego el personal me aclaro que los estaba confundiendo con los rollos vietnamitas.

Perfect, even for fruitarians - Edit
I went to this restaurant for the first time, as a fruitarian. It is often difficult to find fruitarian-friendly dishes in restaurants, other than salads with lettuce and cherry tomatoes. But they imagined 3 dishes just for me and they tasted good and were also well presented. So, it was a perfect night there. My fellow yogis I shared this meal with where envious about how good looking was my plate and wanted to order the same.
