Not bad options - Edit
Considering no vege stall in Chinatown hawker centre, this options are life-saver. Before this, I did buy from the stall, Wen Jia Bao at corner (Facing hawker ctr), too. Not bad. I cannot sniff out any meat contamination from Wen Jia Bao yet. Last photo from Wen Jia Bao stall.

Somewhat Style of Substance - Edit
I wanted to love this place, I really did, the character buns are just so damn cute! However, the ones that I thought had decent flavour were the tiger and the panda (red bean). The chocolate and sesame rolls promised so much, but we’re nearly devoid of taste and the brown sugar cake was marginally better. The thing I most enjoyed was actually the vege balls, they were delicious.

A surprising amount of vegan options available! - Edit
I was craving a red bean steamed bun when I stumbled upon this shop! I was surprised at the amount of vegan-friendly options there are here! They have a sign that clearly labels what buns they have on sale and what they are made of. On top of that, it’s located right outside the Chinatown MRT C exit, so this might be my new go-to place to satisfy those red bean steamed bun cravings while I’m here 😋 #Veganuary

Dough Magic, Chinatown, Singapore - Edit
Their menu includes meat free buns. Bummer so many of their buns contain pork or egg.

Plenty of vegan buns and pau - Edit
Tasty red bean bun! Looking forward to trying more.
Read moreBuns aren’t clearly marked, but most of them have their ingredients listed. The store owners don’t have the clearest English, so I recommend just going off ingredient signs.
Also, for those unfamiliar with this type of cake. They are all served warm. I’m not sure you could take them home and out then in the fridge like western cakes.
