Das Voglhaus

I've always walked past this cafe thinking that I'd have to visit some time.
Last week I did for the first time and it is my (new) favorite cafe! The atmosphere is very comfortable and cozy, there even are seating possibilities 'in' the windows.
Plenty of vegan (and vegetarian and other) options, so in case you are with non/'anti'-vegs they'll love it as well.
Soy milk (for drinks) does NOT cost any extra, lactose-free milk does!
I had the Vitaminbooster Smoothie, eggplant-spread sandwich and chocolate muffin (picture) and all were absolutely amazing!
The great thing is that the 'bakery-items' all have all of their ingredients labeled.
And the bathrooms are pretty amazing and creative.

Im Vogelhaus gibt es eine grosse Auswahl an veganen Gerichten. Alles wird frisch zubereitet und schmeckt sehr gut. Es hat auch eine grosse Vitrine mit verschiedenen Kuchen und Desserts. Wobei auch hier einige Vegan sind.
Manchmal ist es schwierig Platz zu bekommen. Es läuft immer etwas und es ist etwas hektisch.

Das Voglhaus has a cosy atmosphere, it offers creative dishes, delicious cakes and pies, and a grand variation of coffees and (home-made) lemonades. I love how they don't explicitely mention "vegan" and therefore invite so many people to enjoy the food in an unbiased way. A card with ingredient information is displayed next to the inviting cakes and pies in window, so you can easily see which one applies for vegans or vegetarians. I enjoy their coffee varieties (with oatmilk) and fresh lemonades, the lemon pie or typically German "Marmorkuchen" (yes, vegan!). It is almost always full and therefore I don't go there so often as I'd like to - spending some time with a book there, is impossible.

Very popular cafe near the town centre. They have about five vegan options, I had the Vegi Maultaschen, and it was so so nice! Really really tasty, my friend loved hers as well! Most of the cakes and cookies are also vegan, plus the staff know what is and isn't so you can make sure. I had the Linzertorte which was really nice, and then I bought a walnut cookie for later. Amazing meal, very very satisfied. Although I will say I have been there before and had the vegetable curry (Gemüse Curry) and I didn't find that very nice, but this visit has thoroughly made up for that! Because the food was so good I did spend about 20 euros, slightly expensive for a lunch out but it was definitely money well spent!

I have been there about 1 year ago and it saved us as we could find something vegan to eat. Its a funny place widely known in Konstanz. The Cafe was packed with people.

I actually added the cafe to the database - just back from a trip around the German Alpine region and made many stop-offs around Lake Konstanz. When we actually made it to the town of Konstanz, I was resigned to another lunch of salad or soup (if i was lucky, pizza if not) and we stumbled upon this place.
It's fantastic. Wouldn't be out of place in a major city, the selection of hot and cold meals (we tried several as a group) were all fresh, homemade and tasty as heck! The homemade cakes and coffee to finish were simply sublime, I recommend it unconditionally. Visit Konstanz? visit Voglhaus :)
