Hidden gem , the oldest house in Marrakech! - Edit
This was truly thebmost beautiful and authentic restaurant we’ve been to in Morocco. The house dates back to the 16th century but it was amazingly restored. Upon our entrance the lovely emp’oyees gave us a tour and told us about the incredible details, which instantly made us feel like we were at a true museum. Before we came we checked the reviews all over the internet, all comment were great, except a few that suggested that the restaurant’s prices were a bit overpriced compared to other restaurants in marrakech. But when we arrived at the location, and had delicious food we thought that it was worth every penny, especially when you think of museum in europe and western world, there known for having higher prices because of they are museums. So to us it felt just right!
Read moreWe ordered hummus(literally best hummus we’ve had) , the briouates, quinoa salad with avocado and shrimp, & some moroccan pastries with tea. Everything was scrumptious!
While leaving the place we asked if such place was owned by Moroccans or foreigners and we were so delighted to hear that is 100% moroccan and that the family who operates it is all about historical preservation which was so nice to hear!
Pros: Vegan options, Unique location & most beautiful riad in Marrakec, Locally owned and operated

Tricky to find - Edit
Once we wound our way down smaller and smaller alleys, and ducked into a passageway we finally came to a series of closed carved wooden doors. One was marked Dar Cherifa. We knocked and rang the bell and a very nice English speaking person ushered us in. Inside there is a beautiful 3-story courtyard with tables both downstairs and up on the roof. We chose downstairs for the coolness in the warm afternoon.
Read moreOur waiter confirmed that he understood what vegan meant, and pointed out our options. We chose a beautiful and very filling Veggie Couscous and a delicately and wonderfully spiced vegetable Tajine. Along with those we had two freshly made juices (orange, carrot, cinnamon & beet, apple, carrot, ginger.) We sat back on our cushions and enjoyed our very lovely and delicious meals.
Pros: Good knowledge of vegan options, Excellent spices, Beautiful place
Cons: Hard to find. Trust Google Maps.

You need to know how to get there . . . - Edit
We visited this place in September 2018. One of the most exciting and beautiful things on this Morocco trip ! We went after it got already dark and got a little bit lost in Marrakechs "street system" . A man asked us if we needed help and then transfered us to a young man in white gown that led us further into tinier dark alleys and finally to the restaurant.
Read moreIt's a beautiful building and because we had no reservation we needed to sit on the roof top, which was magnificient and a bit cold. Many stairs to climb ! We ordered Tajine, and a vegetable plate (which unfortunately after explaining what vegan is, still contained a boiled egg) and a fresh juice with ginger. Everything was good, also the orange dessert with cinnamon. You should definitely visit this place for the building alone and making them have more vegan dishes in the future !

Bof - Edit
Les quelques plats végétariens proposés ici, comme le traditionnel couscous, manquent de saveurs. À y aller uniquement pour la magnificence du lieu.

Accomodating and tasty - Edit
In Marrekech, I have had a difficult time finding options, many of thr ones I researched will offer one dish that has not impresed me (bland). We went to Dar Cherifa for lunch and found they had a vegan set menu for 140 dirham, however staff allowed me to order a single main item from the menu for a reduced price. The tagine was the best I have had in Morocco.

Pros: Accomodating staff and stunning setting , Variety of veggie and vegan options, Absolutely delicious and flavourful
Cons: Serves meat (but most places in Morocco do), I think they may be cash only , The waiter spoke french but had limited English

Unfortunately the place you went to is not Dar Cherifa. Dar Cherifa is a 16th century Gem with stunning architecture and the photos you’ve shown above and not Dar Cherifa’s. Please check out the website
