Good and cheap food - Edit

Went there for dinner. They had a buffet available but you could also order a la carte. The food was very cheap compared to the most places in the old town. The quality was good but not amazing, staff spoke just a little English. Half local, half foreigners.

I don't understand - Edit

The plate is about 20000vnd but if you are foreigners, don't be surprise to pay double price.

Pros: no msg, vegan

Cons: some workers think you are a fucking note!

really good food - Edit

I really liked the food from the buffet here although it wasn’t all hot anymore, more like room temperature. The passion fruit juice was the best I’ve had in Asia so far.

incredibly cheap and hidden off track - Edit

The food was 20.000VND per meal and very filling. A few people there were working hard making seitan and noodles from scratch.
Some dishes were nice although they were kept warm in a buffet style counter. Some of the dishes were reheated but others were room temperature or just tepid.
We were happy with our evening until one of the men tried to charge us for water which they initially said was free, and then tried to overcharge us and it got a bit awkward and ended on a strange note.

Pros: very cheap, central Hoi An , can see the food before choosing

Cons: meal temperature , watergate

Ba Dam - Edit

Look for ba dam vegetarian on maps and it is opposite le fe cafe. I found it eventually and it was worth it. Cheap, tasty vegan food, many mock meat options but also tofu, vegetables, rice, noodles. Buffet option or set dishes such as mi quang.

Pros: lots of vegan options, good value for money

amazing, cheap Vietnamese food - Edit

I stayed in Hoi An for 5 days and think I ate at Dam at least every day.. my friend and I tried a couple of other vegetarian spots but this one was the nicest food, biggest portions and such decent prices. About 20-30K for a Vietnamese meal. The owners are all lovely aswell.

Impressed! - Edit

For 25,000 dong you get to pick from a dozen things like noodles, rice, mock meat and veggies to fill your plate and the lady brings round a little veggie broth soup - a nice touch! You can order a few things off a menu for 20,000 dong.

I got half a plate of rice, stir fried morning glory, vermicelli noodles with stir fried veggies and 3 different mock meats. They have a cute dog too!

Would definitely go here to keep on budget :) amazing value for money!

Pros: Cheap, Friendly, Cute dog

Great choice and decent price - Edit

There is a large selection of buffet items available or you can order off of the menu like I did several times. Mi Quang and Cao Lao and Each meal was great and only 15k. I also had a few steamed buns which were delicious.
Had to go up to pay after eating. And no English was spoken by the staff so it’s very much a point to order restaurant.

Pros: Local food and local prices , Vegan Steam buns!

Nothing like the pictures - Edit

Went for lunch and the spring rolls and other fake meats were cold, maybe made in the morning and left to serve all day. Food was yummy but cold. Not very clean. Very cheap but could have been because of the cold food

Local place good food - Edit

Bit hard to find but consider it a challenge well worth it. You pick what you want from behind the counter. There is lots of different types of cooked veggies, mock meats, tofus and then they also bring you a small broth. Lots of flavour, not too oily. We paid 55 for two big plates of food. You will actually be given a local price rather than the tourist price in most of the restaurants here. Great if you are a back packer on a budget or you want to eat with the locals xxx

not to be missed - Edit

LOVED this place. Small completely run fam eatert down a little lane. The eatery is at the front of their house and they are literally making everything there!!we got one of the set menus which everything was yumm n then decided to get takeaway aswell for both of us and it came to not even $8aud for 2 meals, entrees and take away. This was probably the tastiest mock meats we had in vietnam. Added bonus no msg or preservatives. It was great being able to support a local family doing great things who are making some of the most delicious home cooked food!!

Pros: buffet style so much to choose from, no msg or preservatives, take away as well

What more could you ask for! - Edit

Choice of vegan buffet/rice plate or noodles (Pho, Cao lau, mi quang) and a few other things. Love going here so tried pretty much everything and it is all gooood. Noodle dishes are 15k, rice plate generally 20-35k depending on how much delicious fake meat you get. Watching the lovely staff make all the fake meats is like magic. Also sells homemade soya milk. For what you pay, literally couldn’t ask for more. My fave haunt in Hoi An.

Pros: Cheap, Quick, Fake meats are too good!

cheap cheerful and wonderful - Edit

Great to have a spot like this in the Old Town as a lot of the restaurants are over priced or so not cater for vegans. Buffet is good and tasty and if you ask the right person you can get info on ingredients for gluten free. Normal menu also looks good.

Hot dam! - Edit

This place is freaking baller!! We were perusing the night markets for some food but decided instead to venture here and it was definitely the right choice! We got a Bun Bao and the local dish Cao Lau. Everything is made fresh and it’s very simple but amazing!! Also it only cost us 23,000 dong, which is insanity. We’re in Hoi An for 2 more days and I very much plan on going back at least once more!

Pros: Delicious, Local Food, Cheap!

I love this place - Edit

Got to be the best mock meat I've tried in Vietnam so far. They give you a big platter of rice, vegetables, a soup, and amazing soy protein - all so cheap. It comes fast and warm.
The owner is really nice, and the staff work hard.
I love the banh bao too. Soft bun with vegan filling and a slightly sweet taste.

Hoi An famous - Edit

Co Dam is Hoi An famous! It's a small restaurant on a side street, so you kinda have to know about it in order to find it. Traveling vegans from all countries come here for fresh, delicious, home cooked vegan food, made with love. You want to come when there is the most variety to get a proper plate. Just before lunch or dinner times typically have the most variety. Lots of greens! They also introduce new items often, most recently eggplant. The plate costs varies depending on how much or what you want to put on your plate, 20,000-40,000 VND. This place is so great, I often come here twice a day.
