Culture Cafe is an oasis of fresh healthy vegetarian food. When I travel through Manitowoc, I always stop for a veggie burger and am grateful they are there. The owner is funny, intelligent and can tell you about local politics if you're interested. He is also accomodating with special dietary requests. The coffee is also GREAT!
Don't be put off by the less than beautiful strip mall area. Inside is the best coffee shop around.
The Culture Cafe is just off the freeway and has a drive through, so you can pop in while driving through. Check the hours. I think he closes early some nights.
The owner actually works there so he's very friendly and knows everything about the food. He is in the process of taking the little cafe fully vegetarian with a good handful of vegan options... not all his veggie burgers are vegan you must ask for it. Fresh ingredients, except for the bad potato chips from a bag he serves with the burgers. Cool artwork painted all over the wall. Plus the owner is vegetarian on his way to being vegan except for his weakness of aged cheddar he says.
