Unusual location but amazing flavors

Visiting Western Florida we were starting to get “hangry” before heading to the relatives for a quick visit, so we randomly decided to try this place out because Happy Cow recommended them.

What surprised us was the location of the restaurant. It’s a kiosk inside of a Shell gas station like you might see at Interstate truck stops. DO NOT be put off by the facade, what’s inside is worth the visit.

We both chose the Tofu burritos (yes you read that right…..tofu burritos) which were packed with white beans, cilantro rice, firm Tofu, fresh Pico de Gallo and cheese wrapped in a humongous tortilla. All said, it was about a pound of burrito using oil and not lard for their cooking. Everything was made fresh and served with 3 different kinds of salsas (mild, green tomatillo and “watch out!”).

My wife couldn’t finish hers and took about 1/3 for a midnight snack. They don’t offer fountain drinks or even diet, but hey, it’s a C Store gas station so you can definitely find something to drink.
