We were so excited when I read about this place unfortunately we were quite disappointed when we visited. The staff was really unfriendly and didn’t seem to care about there customers. They don’t offer the corndogs anymore (my whole point of coming here) and the presentation of the food was just heartless. Wifey ordered the loaded fries which came in a (dog) bowl and looked like they were just normal fries with a few slices of vegan sausage and a little drizzle of cheese. Really disappointing also the place seems pretty run down and overall just left with no love inside. I give three stars only because the hotdog was tasteful and I want to honour the vegan concept. But you are definitely better of at other places or just prepping your own fast food!

Super leckeres Essen!! Wir waren während unseres Aufenthalts 4x hier essen und haben fast die ganze Speisekarte durchprobiert. Wir waren alle super begeistert. Die Burger und die Hot Dogs sind der Oberhammer!! Ich mochte bisher nie wirklich Milkshakes, aber dieser hier ist echt sowas von lecker!! Die ganze Familie wurde stets herzlich empfangen und die Kids liebten die alten Cartoons, welche immer wieder liefen. Das Ambiente ist toll und die Bedienung sehr freundlich. Das Essen ist zu dem sehr günstig.

It's so great to be able to come to a classic diner that is all vegan! The food tasted good (I really liked the burger buns) and the cream on the shake was really good too. The menu isn't super big and is pretty straightforward and simple. Service was also good and the black and white TV played the classics in the background. Great atmosphere and vibes.

Smoking Worker & Unwashed Hands - Edit
As we approached the front door, a young man was smoking in the chair that almost blocked the entrance. In fact, I had to side-step him to get into the restaurant. To make matters worse, the young man worked there, following us in, not washing his hands, and then handing us menus. With these red flags as our pre-appetizers, we decided not to eat here. As a vegan for thirty years, I do wish all vegan restaurants well, but hygiene and manners matter more to me than supporting restaurants like this. (The two stars are from Happy Cow, not me.)

I mean it’s an option, but a poor one... I get the concept but guys I order an horchata water and it came in a plastic bottle, so if you think that’s fresh water in a cup is not, the flavor was good but disappointing with the plastic situation. Also I don’t get the small portions, the food flavors are simple, they charge extra if you want jalapeños (those are cooked, I thought they were pickled), I think they can get better food and better service.

When I first heard about Comet 984 I was incredibly intrigued. This quirky little diner is a 50’s themed American style diner with some seriously impressive interior design and equally notable food to match. I was lucky enough to stop by here the week before I left playa and it’ll definitely be missed. I tried the beyond burger and both plain and loaded fries. I hope to make one more stop by here before we have to leave to try out the milkshakes and the fish burger!

In two visits here, we tried 4 different burgers and all were really good!! My favorites were the spicy burger and the krusty burger and my boyfriend really enjoyed the fishy burger (although it didn’t taste super similar to fish it was still really good) and the BBQ.
Read moreWe didn’t enjoy the milkshakes- we thought they had an overwhelming taste of artificial chocolate sauce and disappointing consistency. The loaded fries were also very underwhelming- the vegan cheese was weird and the vegan bacon wasn’t similar at all.
The service was also almost nonexistent- the people working barely acknowledged us when we walked in and every time we needed something we had to go up to the counter to ask for it because they never came to check on us but they were nice when we did talk to them.
That being said, I still definitely recommend this place for the delicious burgers and the adorable vintage setting!!

We love coming to this cute little diner!! The burgers are great, the milkshakes are to die for! They serve a veggie patty as well as the beyond meat patty. We can’t stop here without ordering a milkshake though!! The snickers one is absolutely amazing. I love that you can really customize your burger here and add different toppings.
