Serves meat, vegan options available. Family run eatery in Santo Domingo offers lake views on the Island of Peace. The restaurant, like many in Ometepe, specializes in fish, however, head chef Edmundo loves to make vegan and vegetarian dishes and takes pride in personally delivering them to your table. Examples are soy meat enchiladas, Nicaraguan curry, gallo pinto beans with plantain and grilled veggies, potato tortas, fruit salads, fresh smoothies and more. There is a menu, but Edmundo will happily prepare you something off menu if you have any requests. Separate kitchenware is always used for vegetarian and vegan food. Open Mon-Sun 7:00am-10:00pm. Can open earlier if requested the day before.

Okay food, very sweet owners - Edit
We came there because of the good reviews, which were definitely true about the people and view! However, there was only one vegan option, which was some stir-fried vegetables with dry white rice, bit of avocado and pineapple. The vegetarian option was pasta which was okay but not great, with avocado and white bread on the side.

Overlooking the lake on the beautiful beach of Playa Santa Domingo, this family run eatery will go above and beyond to serve you the most delicious food. They specialise in fish but completely understand the concept of vegan food too, so this a great place for a group of friends with mixed needs to visit. The coffee is also organic and delcious and the smoothies are incredible. A nice quiet environment. Friendly staff. Delicious traditional food with an interesting twist. What more could you want? Also, the restaurant is ideally located close to Ojo de aqua. So it's a perfect place to fill your bellies after a luxurious swim.

Tastiest Food I’ve Ever Had - Edit
Comedor Julias serves some of the best food you will ever have. Edmundo is a creative and talented chef who’s food simply has to be tried by everyone. Carnivore, pescatarian, veggie, vegan or anything else. This is the place to eat. I’ve been going back to Playa Santo Domingo for nearly five years just to eat here and have been lucky enough to have got to know the family who are wonderful, kind and welcoming. Look no further and get to this restaurante!
