Wow

Such fantastic food! I stayed 3 nights and the food was different and excellent every night. Multiple dishes each with their own flavours. Catered to my diet easily (veg gluten & lactose free). Michelle is a very friendly host.
Food is chef’s selection but you won’t be disappointed. Location is beautiful too, just a 5-10 minute walk from the main square.

Amazing food in a perfect location

Michelle serves delicious food with ingredients directly from her garden. Very tasteful and vegan - I have never had something similar in Panama. It’s absolutely a must go! Don’t forget to reserve a table otherwise it’s not possible to eat there.

Amazing experience

Use WhatsApp to make a booking. Make the journey. It’s totally worth it. Awesome home cooked vegan and vegetarian food for you. Just show up, order a cold beverage, soak in the bucolic jungle setting, and it was served to you. Do you want be disappointed. This was a singular experience. Bring a flashlight to navigate your way back down the trail. Not a difficult hike, but a nice little stroll through the jungle.

Do it. Don’t sleep on this place.

Amazing Experience

Be prepared for a little hike into the jungle to get here but the payout is well worth it.

Michelle (owner chef) prepares all of the food from scratch and used fresh ingredients from her property and the local area.

We enjoyed a chef’s selection 3-course meal. Everything was fully vegan and 100% delicious.

Highly recommended.

Pros: Fresh, delicious food

Just go there

We were just gonna walk by and see how it was, but ended up staying for dinner. We had a really good time with the family who were super nice and helpful! The food was amazing. Will definitely go back before we leave!

Delicious food on a jungle hill

This wonderful little restaurant, an easy walk above Old Bank in Bastimentos is a real treat. Michelle the owner/chef takes pride in her food and it shows. We were treated to a feast for our dinner. We started with a delicious salad with greens that grow wild on the grounds. There were tasty kidney beans, rice, a huge veggie platter with outstanding eggplant, peppers and numerous other yummy veggies. There was a flat bread with potato - simple and delicious. If you are a vegan this is not to be missed.

EAT HERE! And then hang out for a while.

This cafe is well worth the trip over to Bastimentos. I recommend staying in Bocas Del Toro and either take a water taxi over for this restaurant in particular, or take the water taxi to Wizard Beach or Red Frog Beach for the day, then water taxi to the docks at Bastimentos to eat at Coco Hill, then water taxi back to BDT. First, the owner is fabulous and so welcoming. Second, the atmosphere and view is beautiful. Third, and maybe most importantly, the food is phenomenal. Try the curry burger if it's on the menu when you visit. I wish this restaurant was in my hometown so I could be a regular customer and a friend of the owner. She is really a great person. We felt lucky to have found Coco Hill because the vegan food in Panama is sparse. (I mention a "con" is to walk up the hill, but I only list that because I really couldn't think of anything else to list. The walk isn't bad at all unless you are physically limited and can't make the incline.) Directions: From the dock in Bastimentos, take the concrete walkway up the hill, past the houses. The walkway will end and turn into cinder blocks as stepping stones to the top of the hill. At the point where the walkway turns into cinder block, Coco Hill is less than 5 mins. away on the left. Total walk time from the dock is 10 minutes.

Pros: food is delicious, atmosphere is welcoming and laid back, the owner is herself vegan

Cons: be ready to walk up the hill
