Overpriced

I feel bad writing this, but I just got my credit card bill and 2 small donuts were $15.26. That's absurd even for NYC. They have no prices on the donut case or on the wall.

The location is bright and clean but they only have a few varieties. Most of the space is empty. Even so, they don't want you to sit inside to eat your donuts (there are no tables inside but there is a ledge big enough to sit on). It was nearly 90 degrees that day and they directed me to a small bench outside.

I was on vacation and wanted to try their donuts so I took the attitude that I would get a couple no matter the cost and didn't even look when I paid.

How were the donuts? Fine. Small. Nothing special.

Best New York Vegan Donuts

If you know me and/or you've ever been on tour with me, you know that I love vegan donuts and I will judge a city by the quality of their vegan donuts. Is this the first time I've had vegan donuts in New York City? Yes. Do I think that there are better ones in New York City? No. The selection of flavors reminds me of Doe Donuts in Portland, but admittedly these ones are a little bit smaller which is the only negative thing that I have to say about them

Great selection

I appreciate the selection of vegan donuts. They’re light and airy. They also had a lemon blueberry pound cake on the day that I visited which was really yummy.

For a special treat

The donuts here are pricey and small, but they taste great and are ultra-elegant. All the donuts available when I visited were vegan (though they do at times evidently offer non-vegan donuts, so do check).

Not fully vegan

Their donuts are pretty good, their berry olive oil donuts are great. But I don't think their donuts are the best (Dun-Well is better imo) and more importantly, they now offer non vegan donuts even though they advertise themselves as fully vegan. Not cool.

Cons: Not fully vegan anymore

Minimalist Donut shop

Simple - nice spot. Donuts looked better than they tasted. Glad it was vegan.

Cons: Wouldn’t let a service dog in? It’s just counter s

Donut art

Excited to try what I heard was the first Black-owned food and beverage business in Nolita, this vegan donut shop which opened coincidentally in the space where I used to get my hair cut years ago! It is a beautiful boutique setting and the donuts are like little beautiful sculptures.

We got a box of 6 to share with friends: Blood Orange, Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookie with Pink Sea Salt, Vanilla Bean Espresso, Pistachio Olive Oil, Chai and Strawberry were the flavors we selected and our favorite hands down was the Blood Orange- it tasted as good as it looked. The others were good but the cake part kind of all tasted a bit the same where the Blood Orange really did burst with yumminess.

The person working there was super friendly and we'll be back to try more off their menu.

They are definitely much smaller than the typical donut and cost more ($6-7 each) but that's not unexpected for something that's more elevated and creative and it's Nolita after all!

Pros: Beautiful presentation , That Blood Orange donut!, Friendly service

Innovative

I tried the blood orange and espresso flavors. Both were excellent, though the donuts were quite small for the price. Beautiful presentation, though! I’ll be back.
