Amazing!

Everything was just perfect! Cathy's so friendly and very helpful with advice on places to eat and places to visit, where to catch buses etc. The guesthouse is squeaky-clean but very warm and colourful at the same time. Breakfast is delicious and there's plenty of choice for vegans. Bus number 11 stops exactly in front of the entrance.

Pros: excellent food, cleanliness, very quiet

Staying with Cathy in her very colourful and beautiful home was such a wonderful place to be for my first visit to Edinburgh. So very friendly and welcoming, amazing choice of food at breakfast, beautiful house & room & a perfect spot in town to explore from. Cathy was very helpful with places to eat and places to visit & where to catch buses from etc! How all B&B’s should be. Will definitely be back! Loved it all 🤗 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Pros: Super friendly owner ‘Cathy’, Choice of food and teas at breakfast , Colourful house & Room & location

Cons: None

so friendly and easy

we had an incredible stay here. you feel like home. as cathy heard that we are completely vegan she offers us a lot of options for breakfast. we had soy milk, soy joghurt, fresh cutted fruits every day and also fruits like bananas on the table. she made us also vegan porridge- so delicious! you can eat beans polenta Potatoes Mushrooms..... so if you are vegetarian or vegan it is easy to eat a lot ;) the rooms are very clean and cosy. it was a wonderful Trip!

Pros: many vegan options for breakfast , clean and beautiful room

wonderful place to stay

We stayed at claymore this week and wholeheartedly recommend it. Cathy is lovely and full of local knowledge. We felt very welcome. The vegan breakfast is delicious. The decor is wonderful very hippy and arty. I was impressed by the attention to detail in ensuring tje guesthouse is vegan friendly. Soap and showergell is faith in nature and the complimentary in room biscuits were lotus biscof. I told them i was vegan in advance and there was soya milk available for me. We hope to stay again

Pros: vegan breakfast, vegan toiletries

The Best Vegetarian B&B in Edinburgh!

My wife and I stayed at the Claymore Vegetarian Guest House for 3 nights this past September. Cathy was wonderful, and the house is such an incredibly nice place to stay! The room was large, the bed comfortable, the sunshine great (not sure how Cathy managed to arrange that!), the room overlooked that back garden, the breakfast room overlooked the front garden and the old house had such charm missing from most guest houses ... It's within walking distance of all the desirable tourist sites and many vegetarian restaurants. It's not terribly far from Waverly railway station, the Royal Mile, The Royal Gardens, Leith Walk, and others. The breakfasts were pleasant, talking to Cathy quite enjoyable - she made us feel such at home, we didn't want to leave!

Pros: Completely vegetarian guest house, Good location, Wonderful host!

Lovely vegan-friendly guest house

My husband and I stayed at Claymore Guest House for three nights at the beginning of September and had a wonderfully relaxing time. Cathy is a warm and friendly host and was very accommodating from the outset. We were able to park for free on the street, and the location was a perfect base from which to explore the city. We walked everywhere, but if mobility is limited (or it's bucketing down and you prefer public transport!) there's a bus stop right outside. Our room was spacious, comfortable and clean and fresh flowers were a lovely touch! I was also so pleased to find that all the toiletries were vegan friendly :) There were tea/coffee making facilities in the room and fresh soya milk always on hand. Breakfast consisted of fresh fruit, juice, cereals, bread and cooked breakfasts (including delicious tattie scones!) and set us up for the day. Cathy also provided us with a vegan guide to Edinburgh and was always on hand to offer advice. Would recommend ++

Pros: Friendly, accommodating host, Tasty cooked breakfasts, Great location for exploring the city

Cons: None (but wish Cathy made vegan French toast!)

Highly recommended!

Staying at Claymore Vegetarian Guest House was a really enjoyable moment. I arrived late in the evening but the owner had nicely prepared my keys and had explained me before I arrived how to reach my room, which was very convenient. The room I had was nice and clean, with a wifi access that worked well. The house is cute and you feel like at home.
The owner is very friendly. She will serve you a very delicious english vegan (or vegetarian) breakfast. Portions are generous, you also have a good choice of drinks.
The B&B is not at the city center but is easily and rapidly reachable by bus. In terms of price, it is really reasonnable for the quality of the place and by comparison to other B&B.

Pros: yummy vegan breakfast, staff very friendly, nice rooms and good location

Fantastic B&B

I had a great experience in Edinburgh thanks to Cathy's hospitality at Claymore. The vegan breakfast was incredible and I so appreciated being welcomed with soy milk to go with my tea when I arrived. The location was very convenient (a bus stops in front or else it's walkable to the city center) and the accommodations were lovely.

Pros: Great vegan (or vegetarian) breakfast, Gracious host, Perfect location
