The staff was so great and accommodating. I got the shaved brussel sprouts salad as a starter, and the seasonal vegetable risotto as my entree - both dishes they kindly made vegan for me. There is a delicious Mediterranean vegan pasta dish on the menu as well.
Having reviewed the dinner menu in advance, and seeing exactly one vegan item which was a pasta, and multiple salads that could be made vegan, I did not have high hopes for a good meal. I was expecting an uninspired version of a pasta Primavera. Boy, was I pleasantly surprised! The vegan farfalle with roasted almonds, Brussels sprout leaves, and a kale and chili pesto was superb - a fantastic dish. I had come prepared with a bottle of Nooch-It, to add some protein and a dash of flavor which I did sprinkle on the dish, however, it would have been fantastic without that boost.
Went there for a non-veggies birthday dinner the other night. There is one truly vegan labeled dish on the menu but the staff is willing to make some arrangements for some other dishes. I had the butternut squash risotto sans meat and dairy, delish!
I have been to Cibo Matto Cafe several times for lunch. When I started going there, I was vegetarian and enjoyed the Vegetable Risotto made with fresh seasonal veggies..it was a bit too cheesy tasting for my liking, but delicous. The Shaved Brussels Sprout salad has cheese, also, but since going vegan I've had it without the cheese (everything is made to order). The Veggie Burger (not sure if it's vegan) is flavorful and homemade...contains chunks of sweet potato, peppers, and other veggies. They also have a Hummus and Veggie wrap (so good!).
They are all very accomidating and really nice...very helpful and the waitstaff take their time with you.
If you like tea, they have loose tea they serve in individual pots!
I can't rave enough about this restaurant :-)
I definitely recommend!
