Vegetarian cafe/bar offering vegetarian and vegan food such as pasta, salads and sandwiches, in addition to alcohol and other drinks. Free Wi-Fi, table football. DEC 2013 REPORTED SHUT, WEB NOT WORKING.
Based on the Happy Cow listing, I also sought out Chisty List, a bar in an obscure location at the cul-de-sac of an out-of-the-way dead-end street. Though Happy Cow said they were open 24 hours, they stop serving food at 11 pm, and I arrived too late to try it. I would have ordered food to-go in any case, as the place was very smoky and my low-fashion attire apparently offended the other patrons.
Chisty List (Russian for "clean slate") has only just started out at Chetvert Creative Space, and is catering towards young and hip punters, with table football and music in addition to drinks, which aaprt from beer, cocktails and wine also include smoothies and such. There is also vegetarian food available - the menu was chalked on a blackboard. However, the trouble was that the bartender seemed to confuse vegetarian and vegan food - the vegan pasta I ordered had cheese on top; she said that it was vegan cheese but, upon consulting the chef, had to backpedal. I was provided with a falafel sandwich instead which was nice and filling enough though a tad less spicy than I'm used to. My companion said that her tomato pasta was a little on the bland side. Hopefully these are just growing pains, and St Petersburg will get its first round-the-clock vegetarian eatery to be proud of.
