Only two vegan options

They only had two vegan options and I didn't love either of them...the flavours were too bland for my liking...However, I'd still recommend giving it a try if you're curious about North Korean cuisine :)

Worth the visit!

The menu seems to be different than the previous reviews as of my visit in May 2024, however the staff was super helpful in helping us find which options are vegan. We used a translator, and were able to order smoothly.

We got the bibim naengmyeon, as well as the tofu rice appetizer. The naengmyeon was super refreshing, and it was exciting to finally find some naengmyeon that was fully vegan! It’s also a lot more filling than expected, good value for the price!

Good experience

I think they changed their menu from last time. There’s a few options for main course where the owner said he’ll make the dish vegetarian/ vegan friendly. There’s a tofu appetizer as well that I didn’t order. The owner was really friendly and spoke about the customs of North Korea, it was a nice cultural experience. The food was delicious as well. Will definitely go back!

Interesting experience

You can eat curious North-Korean-style food here! They also have Jindallae beer 진달래맥주 and strong Chinese liquors.

There are a couple of vegan dishes, such as tofu filled with rice 두부밥, soy meat filled with rice 인조고기밥 and potato pancakes 농마전 (aka 감자전).

The food tasted okay and the service was nice! Overall, it was an interesting experience.

The interior was rather unconventional, with red walls, nostalgic lighting and rows of seats - but everything seemed clean and in order. They played Latin music in the background, which was fun!

Pros: food tastes ok

Cons: a bit pricey unless you sign up for membership
