No more vegan poutine - Edit
I was so disappointed to find out that the vegan poutine is gone. They have a vegan gravy but they just put it on the regular poutine with the cheese. That doesn’t equal vegan poutine for me. The gravy is good tho and the homemade sodas are amazing.

Amazing House made Vegan Burger is incredible! - Edit
They have an amazing vegan burger that is made in house. It is well seasoned. There is an upcharge for a vegan gluten free bun, the bread that is is originally served in is not vegan. You can get the vegan patty added to a salad if you wish. The vegan poutine is definitely not the traditional poutine we are all used to, but, it is made with roasted potatoes and thy use cubed tofu for the “cheese”. It is a tomato based gravy, it was still good. Just a different was of serving it. Also, they do lot have any commercial sodas. They make all of their sodas in house, pick a flavor and check it out.

J'ai pris la poutine La Végane avec un soda à la mangue. C'était délicieux! Mais j'appellerais cela autre chose qu'une poutine. C'est plutôt des patates avec tofu et sauce tomate. Peut-être plus une poutine italienne végane.

Poutine is more tomato based than gravy. It has grilled tofu square which is good, but reminded me of chilli seasonings.

Disappointing vegan poutine - Edit
We ordered the vegan poutine, what we got was fine, but not what we expected. The addition of the tofu was really appreciated, there was a lot of it and very tasty, but the sauce tasted like a regular tomato pasta sauce served with chips. Not bad, but not sure it's poutine.

Patate en cube, tofu au fines herbes dur et sans goût et la sauce .. un désastre tomatée. Ne vous fiez pas aux photos des autres utilisateurs ce n’est pas d’actualité.

Fantastic menu with vegan options! Even vegan poutine! Those chips tossed in maple syrup and pepper were super yum!!! Le Jardin burger was freaking amazing but the bun wasn’t great! Also had homemade raspberry soda which was delicious!

We had the fries mix and the poutine with mushrooms (without cheese - the waiter told us the sauce was vegan). It tasted all really good, but I doubt the sauce was really vegan. Service was pretty slow and not of the most friendly kind.

Based off of older reviews and pictures, it looks like they're not consistent with their vegan poutine option. Mine was just large firm blocks of tofu with potatoes (not fries) and some gravy. I wanted tofu-based cheese curds, not just straight up tofu. Luckily it was filling, but it made me nervous when the person who took my order (who was not very friendly) told me that gravy by default is vegan. It's not. So I hope they just make all of their gravy vegan then.

Chic Shack does offer a few vegan items. The vegan poutine was good. The vegan pattie lacked seasoning, was dry, and fell apart making it too difficult to eat as a sandwich.

The vegan Poutine was interesting and yummy. It can be hard to find local dishes when you travel done vegan. The salad was good, not amazing. The service was friendly enough. My spouse had the veggie burger and liked. We would go back.

Not a viable vegan option in my experience - Edit
I debated leaving this review as it may not have been as difficult had I had a more helpful waitress. The menu is not geared for vegans (their veggie burger has egg, I was told) and when I asked about vegan options she wasn’t very helpful and couldn’t or wouldn’t enquiry about other ingredients other than to say they probably weren’t suitable. I tried to order a salad but got so exasperated n the end I just had fries, which were tasty but not really what I had hoped for!
