Feeling conflicted - Edit
We had difficulties locating this shop but after passing some shops in the B2 level we found it. The shop is tiny but the presentation is lovely. The staff was incredibly sweet and easy to talk to though knowing a little bit of Japanese definitely came in handy.
Read moreWe bought a couple of cakes, a scone and a strawberry mouse. All of them looked appetizing but unfortunately, some of them just weren't tasty and quite frankly, disappointing.
The scone was bone-dry and the cheesecake tasted bad, even if it hurts saying that. The blueberry-coconut cake was decent.
At last, the chocolate cake and strawberry mouse was really good and I would gladly eat them again!
All in all, I have mixed feelings about Chat. I love their selection but some items are just lacking while others are pretty good. I honestly wouldn't recommend this to anyone though I appreciate their support for vegan food.
Therefore, I give it 3/5 stars.

The best cake in Japan! - Edit
I am a vegetarian and have a very hard time finding food in Hokkaido.

The mousse-like cakes were also very good.
The scones have no sugar in them, so they are good for a meal, and I bought some for the next day.
The waitress was very kind and told me about various good vegan-friendly restaurants in Sapporo.
I was also lucky enough to learn about Ootoya's secret menu!
I will come back again.
