Vegan options getting worse and prices are going up - Edit
A few years ago, this place was a great destination for vegan food. It seems like these days are long gone and the vegan selection is getting worse and worse.
Read moreWhat's left is a vegan flammkuchen - with dates, grapes and walnuts, not really my cup of tea - and an antipasti plate. And the weekly changing menu usually only contains a vegan burger. That's it. The rest is typical bar food with focus on animal-based products. Oh, and it's rather expensive.
I only gave the third star because it says in the menu that all the breakfast options could be made vegan. If that's so the Centrum might be a good choice for breakfast but I haven't tried that yet.

New Menu 2022 :( - Edit
Sadly the menu has changed and moved to fewer items, more restaurant than bar style. This was one of my favourite places to eat and have drinks with friends but with only two vegan options left, I won’t be coming here anymore.

The selection of vegan options is pretty good, but far from "the whole menu". Sadly the food itself is lackluster, it all seems very low effort and often even low quality.

Updated: They updated their menu sometime in September 2021. There is now a single vegan meal on it. It's an okay Beyond Burger with soggy potato wedges. :(

Hier stand jahrelang eine gute Bewertung von mir. Nachdem ich nun wiederholt enttäuscht wurde, muss ich das Ganze jedoch revidieren und ein paar kritische Worte loswerden. Die veganen Gerichte sind immer noch okay, aber mehr auch nicht. Die Qualität hat in den vergangenen Jahren nachgelassen. Zudem sind die Portionen kleiner geworden, die Preise sind hingegen gestiegen. Was vor 10 Jahren noch eine Topadresse für vegan Lebende war, ist leider nur noch Durchschnitt. Hannover hat mittlerweile weitaus Besseres zu bieten.

Excellent vegan-friendly options! - Edit
During our most recent visit to Centrum, they were serving three specials in addition to the a la carte menu, two of which were vegan-friendly; Beyond Meat Burger and Beyond Meat Hotdog.

The menu offers many more vegan-friendly options, as well as items that can be veganised. They also have a range of vegan desserts - we tried the brownies which were exceptional!
Linden is a vegan-friendly hotspot in Hannover, so well worth a visit. This place is right next to a lovely market square, so convenient for lunch (with outdoor seating) and no doubt great for dinner too.
They also offer vegan breakfast!

Der Besuch beim Centrum war leider enttäuschend. Früher war ich immer (!) begeistert von den Gerichten, die Qualität scheint aber nachgelassen zu haben (diese Bewertung schreibe ich erst nach dem dritten nicht ganz zufriedenem Besuch). Ich bin kein Experte, es ist im Endeffekt Geschmacksache. Auf dem veganen Chilli Cheese Burger war kein Hauch von Chilli zu schmecken. Die Patties waren überwürzt. Die Salatbeilage war welk und wärmer als der Burger und die Wedges. Die vegane Mayo war gut. Die Weinschorle war warm, ohne einen Hauch Gas und ohne Eiswürfel. Dies wurde aber an der Bar behoben. Leider sind auch die Stühle draußen sehr unbequem.

Centrum is a pretty cool place. as far as i know it's run by a vegan and a meat eater which is why they cater for both and take being vegan seriously.

i LOVE their beer garden and sometimes come for drinks only. service is nice & quick.
they do football screenings on a huge screen outside during euro & world cups!

Great food, but be aware for unvegan/unvegetarian - Edit
First- i like the athmosphere. The bar is full of trashy vintage furniture (with some leather sofas, what i dont like).

The food is tasty too. But here its the same- sometimes you get great food, sometimes the same dish a few days later tastes not so good. Maybe they have two different cooks- i dont know!
But the biggest problem is that they serve vegan, vegetarian and meat options. And they often mess it up, you order vegan and get meat, you order vegan and get cheese...
You have to be very careful and should mention vegan 100times and ask when the food comes if its really vegan.
Thats annoying for me as a guest and for the staff also.
Its also important to mention, that 2/3 is for smokers and the doors dont close between the areas, so it could be a bit smokey

I have been there maybe 10 times, and have never had any slip-ups (as in getting non-vegan options), but I witnessed during one of the "vegan meetings" that a lady who was not aware that they have non-vegan options orderes scrambled eggs (assuming it was scrambled tofu from the slightly misleading menu) and the waiter did not point it out to her (as they serve people with all kinds of diets).
Read morePay attention to the little signs in the menu that denote vegan, vegetarian (containing milk/egg) or meat options, and make clear that you want it vegan.

Pub with vegan options - Edit
The 'Centrum Linden' is a modern pub or bistro with an unusual option - one of the owners is vegan, and nearly all dishes on the menu (maybe 95%) are offered in an 'original' and in a 'vegan' variety. For that reason, it was a 'natural' location for some of Hannover's Vegan meetings (the other being the 'Loving Hut') and most of the participants (~30) praised the taste of the food. Of course we could not compare the quality of both versions, but the vegen versions of the dishes that were tasted passed the taste test. Nice outdoor seating availagle on a little city square, althouth in the evening, the patrons have to move inside due to noise regulations (but then it is more of a bar/cocktail place anyway).
