Pretty average - only place with decent options

Nice venue, really helpful friendly staff, and knowledgable. Vegan menu (see picture) is on the back of the menu. I was told everything on the back of menu was sfv (Safe for vegans)
The wheaten bread was really delicious! Try this!
The linguine was quite lacklustre but I just didnt fancy anything else. Pasta with red sauce is always the easy option. I’m sure the other dishes would have been fine too. Interestingly, all mains get a complimentary side order included.
Caution: confirmed they are using the fryers for vegan and non-vegan items. Cross contamination guaranteed.

Pros: Staff, Only place with options, Nice venue

Cons: Linguine was very basic. Could have used a kick. , No garlic bread option!

Vegan menu not strictly vegan...

Really lovely little spot with a great atmosphere. However, when asking about the fryers as needed something gluten free, it transpires they have 2 fryers, one gluten free, one 'gluten', but both fryers are used for meat products. I did question the waitress as they have a separate vegan menu and using fryers for both meat and vegan / vegetarian stuff meant that the fried stuff on the vegan menu wasn't vegan/vegetarian but they just recommended not eating the fried stuff. It's a real pity as it's a lovely venue, but you need to be wary of what they refer to as vegan.

Pros: Lovely venue, Great atmosphere

Cons: Vegan food fried with meat, Dishes not as described on menu

Highly recommended fantastic food and service

Dropped in on Saturday lunchtime not knowing anything about this place. What a find! Lots of vegan and GF options. Very friendly and attentive staff. Laid back atmosphere with great music but not loud. Food was delicious and reasonably priced. The nut roast at a tenner was great value and one of the best I've had in 4 decades of eating them. No lie!
Except for the rule that 5* is only for places that are 100% vegan I'd have put 5*. A great find that made the visit to Derry just that little more special. Highly recommended!

Pros: Excellent food., Great staff., Laid back atmosphere.

Sunday lunch

Lovely vegan Sunday lunch menu. We both had the nut roast. It came with mash so we wished we’d both ordered veg as our choice of side instead of double mash. I had a balsamic beetroot salad starter and they were happy to leave the oil off for me. Great service. Worth booking as quite small. Fab to have a separate vegan menu and not have to read the meaty menu. Reasonable prices.

Pros: Separate vegan menu, Tasty, Nice ambiance

Delectable Vegan feast in the heart of Derry

We had the Tempura Broccoli to start, for mains The Lentil cottage pie with chips and Mixed nut roast with mash. Desserts were a Chocolate brownie and apple & blackberry crumble. The food was excellent, really tasty we honestly were just short of licking the plates, it's just a pity these guys don't have a chain all over the country. Great quality food very impressed.

Excellent vegan/vegetarian options

They have a dedicated full vegan menu. The service was great and the cost guide good. We enjoyed the lentil Shepherds pie, nut roast, complimentary sides and the AppleBlackberry crumble with vegan ice cream.

AMAZING!!! Vegan and gluten free options

They have their own fully vegan menu with plenty of gluten free options on it.
The staff are attentive and the atmosphere is nice and relaxed.
My partner is gluten intolerant vegan so he had plenty of options too.

We went on a Friday evening.
We had the tempura brocolli and falafel bites to start and the brocolli and potato satay with basmati for mains with garlic fries for sides.
All items were good size portions, cooked beautifully and tasted amazing.
They even state on the wine menu which wines are vegan.
The prices are good too.

Would definitely recommend this place to others and it will definitely become a regular restaurant we go to.

Pros: Own separate vegan menu, Lots of gluten free options, Good chefs amazing food

Wish I could give 5 stars!

Happy Cow doesn't allow 5 stars as the place is not fully vegan.
We had Sunday lunch here and they have a separate vegan menu available with lots of variety!
The quality of the food was brilliant, we both had the nut roast for our mains and thought it was the best we have tried, super impressed! Their starter soup was delicious too.
I wish we lived local - it would definitely be a regular 😂
Brilliant prices and really friendly service too!

Pros: Separate vegan menu! , Really lovely food-massive portions! , Excellent service

Lots of delicious vegan options

Went with my non-vegan family and there were great options for everyone, including lots of gluten free (vegan and non-vegan) options. I had the squash and mushroom risotto small plate - which I wish I had as a main course, it was so flavourful! And a side of garlic fries which were also delicious. My mum had the lentil cottage pie and it was also delicious. Will definitely be back next time I'm in Derry.

Castle Street Social - Name does live up to expectation

I had booked this place 5 days before visiting it and had booked it by sending an email. I received a confirmation within 12 hours about my booking which was great but when we reached the venue I couldn't find my name on the booking list but the staff was helpful and got a table ready for us in 5 to 7 minutes.

Ambience was lovely, it was very busy and background music added to everyone's mood.

Coming down to food, we opted for the Vegan menu (they have a separate Vegan menu). We wanted to go for a 3 course Vegan meal for each but couldn't do it because the vegan desert wasn't available. So, we opted for a 2 course meal and ordered below items,

1. Peri Peri Fried Pak (Starter)
2. Garlic Bread (Starter)
3. Risotto (Main Course)
4. Linguini (Main Course)
5. Chili Fries (Sider)
6. Garlic Fries (Sider)
7. Strawberry Noliquiri (Non Alcoholic)

Out of the above list 4 of them became our favorites (Peri Peri Fried Pak, Risotto, Chili Fries and the best was Strawberry Noliquiri)

The cost of 2 Course meal is 10 pounds and cost of 3 course meal is 13 pounds. Service was very good and prompt.

Surely a go to place with Family and friends.
