I really loved the food here, and even though they messed the order up the 1st time, they made sure to fix it and were very polite. It was a little slow, but the food was worth the wait!

There food is always consistently delicious! Such friendly staff, cool environment, and yummy food! Loads of vegan options clearly labeled on menu. Delicious drinks too!

Adore this restaurant! Multiple vegan options on menu. Also easy to veganize some of the other dishes. Highly recommend the vegan stacked enchilada, taco salad, and tofu fries. They even have a vegan brownie with dairy free ice cream for dessert. Huge salsa selection, including the weekly special salsa which is always something interesting and yummy! Love the vibe of the restaurant and the people that work there

The vegan options here are truly amazing!! I would rate the food five stars. The service on the other hand, is not so great, I would give about two stars which is why I settled on three. I always go back though, because the food is really that good!

If I could rate the food and service separately, I’d give the food four stars, and the service half a star. I lived in Athens 6 years and ate at Casa many times. The majority of those times, my appetizer was forgotten and/or there was an hour wait to be seated when the dining room was not even close to full. Once, I ordered a vegan quesadilla and was brought a chicken quesadilla with dairy cheese. When pointing this out to my server, she insisted what she gave me was vegan.. I had to point directly at the piece of chicken hanging out of the quesadilla to prove to her she was mistaken. My vegan quesadilla came out 20 minutes later, and they expected me to pay my bill in full. I like the concept of no tipping, but perhaps if there were tips involved, the staff would try a little harder. Anyway, onto the food: they have several vegan options on both the regular and brunch menu, which is awesome. They have lots of locally sourced ingredients, which is also awesome. I always come back for the food, not the service.

Vegan Burrito Heaven - Edit
Found this place on the app during a college visit to Ohio University (it was recommended by our tour guide as well). The atmosphere is extremely laid back and eclectic. The Vegan Burrito was amazing (I posted a picture of the burrito on here also as it was picture worthy)! My daughter and husband who are not vegan or vegetarian enjoyed their food also. If my daughter decides to go to OU for school we will eat here again I'm sure. My only complaint was that they were super busy when we got there so we waited 40 mins to be seated and then it was another 35 mins for our food to come out. We had chips and guac to tide us over but it was a long wait for food after having walked around a college campus for 2 hours. But that was not their fault and they were upfront about the wait time. There are several other vegan options on the menu and tons of vegetarian choices as well! Yum!

Casa Nueva is a go to if you're visiting Athens. Every time I'm in town I end up eating there at least twice! They have different breakfast, lunch and dinner menus and all of which are amazing and changing with the seasons. All of their food is local and a part of the 30 mile meal program.

Casa Nueva is definitely the place to go if you're vegan in Athens. Solid, creative vegan food with rotating specialty sauces and salsa. I also recommend the Athens Mule if you like ginger.

Casa Nueva Rocks! - Edit
My husband and I have patronized Casa for more than ten years. It's one of our favorite places. The food is great. Try the hills deluxe (beans and rice served toppes with crunchy green lettuce and two different types of their in-house awesome salsa. It's also served with one of their yummy wheat tortillas. The vegan burrito is great and usually stuffed with beans, rice and the veggie of the day. There is a huge vegetarian selection and a very decent vegan selection. The salsa (they even have different seasonal salsa...like paw paw salsa) is truly great. So great that they have put it in a jar and sells in regional grocery srores. YUM! We've never had a bad meal, but sometimes the service is s-l-o-w. But hey, I can deal with that from a gem of a place like Casa Nueva. It's also worth mentioning that they use as many local ingredients as possible (i.e. paw paws) and the organic selection is great.
