The bio version of Carrefour international supermarket chain. Focus is on natural and organic products, which include fresh vegetables and fruits, gluten-free, and some vegan foodstuff. Open Mon-Sat 7:30am-8:30pm, Sun 9:00am-7:00pm.
They have a lot of vegan options like tofu, meat replacers and cheezes from Daiya, Gardein, Beyond Meat etc. However prices are very expensive. A single, regular sized bag of Gardein easily is 9 to 13 usd.
The great thing is, all the options are there! So you can make it as expensive if you want. Plenty of vegan mylks, and also a great deal of products that are accidentally vegan like a pure chocolate paste, similar to nutella, by the brand “G’woon”.
Since there aren’t too many big supermarkets on the island, this Carrefour made me very happy for the weekly groceries😄
There aren't a lot of vegan meat and cheese substitutes here, but they do have vegan Ben and Jerry's ice cream which neither of the other main supermarkets stock. They also have a good selection of Indian and Middle Eastern food too.
Good produce, very few veggie burger things - Edit
Very good diverse produce section. Excellent international section with lots of Indian and Mexican and Chinese spices and sauces. Pomegranate molassas.
Very very pathetic vegan frozen foods section though. One freezer door section of random wierd things that did not look good at all.
As a vegan traveler you must be prepared to go to all of the grocery stores to gather what you need.
