Two vegan croissants - Edit
The chocolate croissant was excellent, and the blueberry croissant was good. The prices were pretty cheap, at 1,80€ per croissant, and there is no price markup for the vegan ones. One of the waiting staff spoke very good English and knew which options were vegan.
Read moreThey seem to sell out fast. At 09:30 they had two varieties of vegan croissants with quite a few croissants in each type. By 10:00 they were down to one singular vegan croissant. I'd recommend arriving early because if you arrive after 10:00, you might find there's nothing vegan remaining.

Small coffee offering some vegan pastries. They have a very wide selection on croissants of different flavours. They have vegetable milk and the coffee was delicious. Staff speaks English and knows what vegan is.

We had vegan marmalade croissants (cornetti all'arancia), apple pastries, and pain au chocolat (dolore al cioccolato) - so great to have all these vegan options, and in such a central location when visiting the Sassi!

Staff is familiar with what “vegano” means. I had a capuchino with soy milk, and some pastries (chocolate and pistachio) which were just delicious!

This café in the heart of Matera has a nice atmosphere and very friendly waiters. In the afternoon they have less vegan options but there was still two different pastries available. I had the croissant with vanilla cream and it was delicious! If you're not vegan, you should absolutley try the tette delle monache which was amazing! My husband tried it at other places as well but said this was the best one ;)

Had a tea and 4 vegan pastries. Highly recommend the vegana cremas. Baristas we’re very helpful, spoke English, and directed us to the vegan options (which were all clearly labeled).
