Great vegan meal

Finding vegan food in Saint-Émilion is not easy, but Cafe Saigon has you covered. I felt it would be weird to eat Vietnamese while in France, but after a week of struggling to find vegan protein, I was elated to learn they had tofu. They serve a daily menu, but they are happy to accommodate. I specified we were vegan when we made the reservation, and we were happy to have an app and a main offered. The tofu stir fry with fresh salad was absolutely delicious, as was the fried zucchini appetizer. Don’t sleep on this family-run establishment!

Pros: Tofu, Accommodating , Super nice people!

Miam !

Cons: Un petit peu cher

Really tasty!

Yummy, fresh food, good service, nice atmosphere. They have a vegan starter and main option each day. Can enjoy a glass of wine too. They were able to make my food gluten free and low fodmap! 🌟

Tasty but quite pricy.

One vegan plate and several vegan desserts. It was good but we found it a little too expensive beside the quantity.

Pros: Vegan friendly, Special vegan menu on demand

Cons: Quite expensive for the quantity

Great to find vegan food...not great for Vietnamese food

We were extremely happy to find this place on Happy Cow...as we were not expecting to be able to eat out anywhere...and hearing it was Vietnamese, even better. We messaged on Facebook a couple of days before and they told us what the vegan options would be for when we visited. We then called up to book. The restaurant is nice and the service was really good. The option for starter was courgette fritters on a fragrant salad (delicious) and then main was stir fried tofu with either rice or noodles. We had one of each. It was a bit disappointing...it had none of that light but fragrant taste that you expect from Vietnamese food. It was pretty bland and not very exciting. The tofu was not seasoned very well. It was great to be able to eat out but didn’t blow us away at all.

Pros: Vegan options, Tasty starter, Good service and atmosphere

Cons: Average food, Didn’t taste authentically Vietnamese

Best meal in France

This place was a great little find. They only have a small menu of the day but will happily do a veggie / vegan menu with some notice - we booked for the evening but it sounded like she could have done it for lunch with a small delay.
The food was excellent - really good balance of flavours. We had a Vietnamese noodle salad to start followed by stir-fry veg and tofu in a delicate flavourful broth with steamed sticky rice. All cooked to perfection and one of the puddings was vegan as well.
Highly recommend for the food, the place itself and also the staff.

Pros: Good vegan menu
