Okay-ish when at Airport

It's a nice choice in Terminal 1 of Berlin airport. Over several visits I tried banana bread chocolate, Tofu Miso Bowl, Cappuccino, Oatmeal with berries. Flavor wise it's a little underwhelming but it's definitely a relief to know there is a place to get vegan items. It's obviously overpriced cause it's at the airport.

Mouldy, gone off food. Avoid! 😳

We initially had what we thought was a yummy porridge and wrap here, and bought some energy balls for later. Sadly, the latter were growing mould, which we only realised when close to boarding the plane. They had another 20 or so on the plate, so lots of bellyache for people travelling by plane and not noticing the mould. Avoid!

Cons: Selling mouldy food

Nice surprise

This was a nice surprise to see a Haferkater at the airport. Vegan porridge and banana bread are my favorite options.

Boring and average

When Berlin have so much vegetarian and vegan food to offer, this place is really boring and average.
They offer porridge and some premade wraps (thats it). I had a wrap which is supposed to be with tofu, but I didn't find any. Maybe they confused tofu with chickpeas?
They have a few seating, but they don't clean the seatings so often, so they are pretty dirty.
There are other vegan options in the airport, including vegan currywurst. So I can only recommend Haferkater if you look specific for porridge or a chickpea wrap

Can they come to London please!!

Hummus bowl was delicious, though quite heavy on the Hafer-Reis. Have also had porridge and coffee at a different location and that was also very good. Wish we had this chain in London!

Pros: Great food, Lots of options, Nice coffee

Cons: No almond milk

Nice

I didn’t have time for breakfast before going to the airport, so this was a nice surprise.
Food is good, though a bit expensive.
Staff was very friendly.

Not sure if it’s worthy…

I’m not sure if a pricey cold wrap and not knowing by heart their banana breads flavours at the time to order is worthy to spend my money there.

After asking for my order they were unnecessarily rude to me, because I didn’t reply INSTANTLY to the question which banana bread I wanted. I didn’t know I was supposed to know the exact menu before ordering, from where I was standing I could only see one option. And I don’t have the military training required for the aforementioned situation.

After me saying I better not take the banana bread because they were rude to me, they decided to talk about the situation with the costumer next to me. Very unpleasant but I guess is their style.

Despite the bad experience, I must say that the person at the cash desk was trying to be polite among their possibilities. I asked for money back and went to eat another tasty vegan meal and a vegan banana bread upstairs.

Breakfast, snacks & healthy meals

Haferkater is a Berlin franchise specializing in hot oatmeal with different kinds of toppings. They have expanded their menu and are nowadays also offering sandwiches, sweets and warm bowls. You can get small snacks and healthy meals, ranging from oatmeal for breakfast or dessert, to a filling and hearty bowl with salad and oat rice. Vegan options are clearly labeled.

My oatmeal here was a comforting, sweet snack that hit the spot when I left Germany...

Staff was cheerful and a bit cheeky, typical for Berlin lol.

This store is located in Terminal 1, close to gate A02. There are a few chairs and tables for customers, but seats are quickly taken. Most items are available for take-away.

Pros: Taste ok/good, Friendly staff

Great chain

If you want a great snack, sándwich or breakfast porridge with a nice coffee then this friendly chain is recommended. If you need a vegan or veggie option at the airport, be sure to head for this place. You will be catered for.

Fairly good, what a nice surprise

I wasn't expecting much for airport food, but this place, with so many vegan options, super nice find. I had the ceasar wrap, and quite nice.

Next time I have to come to the airport, i might come a little earlier just to come again

Great find in Berlin airport

It was so refreshing finding the spot serving an almost exclusively, vegan menu, including porridge, bowls, wraps, and pastries. It is located post the security in terminal one by gate A02
