Very Veggie Burger carries this place.

Great location, even better veggie burger. That being said, there are just about no other options.

Very Veggie is Good

I ordered the Very Veggie and split fries with my dining partner. The employee taking orders told me that he was not vegan and therefore didn't know anything about what items were vegan. I asked about the dipping sauces. He told me dragon sauce had condensed milk and mayo, so I knew that was out. I then asked about the curry mustard, which he assured me was only yellow mustard and curry. Finally I asked about the Thai Sesame dipping, and he got the jar from the fridge for me to read the ingredients--it is vegan. When we received the sauces (had to pay extra to get two), the curry mustard was extremely creamy. I think that he was incorrect and it contained mayo. The Thai Sesame was too sweet for fries. I just did not eat any sauce after tasting both. It was not a problem because I did not enjoy the fries. We ate them on the spot as recommended, but they were just too salty and otherwise just not good. That was my opinion, my partner thought they were fine. The veggie sandwich was very good, but I don't think it was worth the trip for me unless someone else in my family really wanted to eat there. It is a hassle to park to go to this restaurant--try the parking lot directly across Columbia or the garage at Columbia and Rosemary if the lot is full as it was today.

Pros: Very Veggie Burger is Good

Cons: No other vegan options, Staff not knowledgeable about veganism

one of my favorite veggie burgers in chapel hill!

their hand-made veggie patties are loaded with grains, rice and beans. very hearty and delicious.
i like to get mine with caramelized onions (which adds a little sweetness to it), avocado, slaw, pickles and of course lettuce (not tomatoe for me!) all of their sauces are insanely delicious, too! their dragon and curry mustard are a must!
their grilled cheese is also quite good, though i don't see it on their website anymore.
the only downside is that their fries are only good if you eat them there on the spot (and i know it's like that for most restaurants with fries!) dining in there is also nice because you can people watch. there is also ample parking!
customer service is also a+

Pros: vegetarian pattie , yummy sauces, good selection of topping

Cons: fries are a+ when you get them, not so much later

Bean burger on menu

They have exactly one veggie option other than the fries and it's an old fashioned bean burger patty which I found delicious. Had it on the wheat bun and with ketchup adn mustard and pickles, because that's how I like it, but they have their own toppings if you want including a tahini dressing and alfa sprouts. They have regular potato fries and sweet potato fries, which my husband adores. If you're vegeterian their dips are nice too. It's definitely fast food and traditional burger fare, but if that's what you're in the mood for, you won't be disappointed.

Their buns are NOT vegan!

WARNING! None of their buns are vegan!

They have a Veggie burger listed that contains no animal products in the toppings and sauce, so it can be assumed the bun would be vegan as well but they are not. The burger is very tasty and their fries are great!

very tasty veggie burger

there's really only one option for vegans, the veggie burger and fries, but the veggie burger was SO GOOD like if i lived around here, i would seriously go back and just order the patty and fries😂 it is so good. You can change the veggies and the sauce of the burger too 👍🏽

Good vegan burger

Buns burger is pretty good and clearly home made. Just to set expectations though - the burger is not similar to meat burger in taste or texture, but it is delicious.

Pros: Delicious buger, Cheap

Cons: Limited menu items, Burger doesn't resemble meat

Is there advertised "veggie burger" vegan or do you have to specifically ask for it? Is there a special vegan bun?

Great vegan burger

Buns offers a delicious veggie burger that isn't your usual soy patty - it's a flavorful blend of different beans and vegetables that you can actually see, like zucchini. Very tasty. Their fries (sweet potato and regular) are amazing and you get a ton so I always split an order. They offer several vegan toppings including grilled mushrooms, sliced avocado ($1 extra), grilled onions, and their tomatoes are NOT your standard restaurant tomatoes (pale), these are so red, juicy and look like they are fresh from the farmer's market! Yum! Other than the veggie burger, you won't find any other vegan options, but it's very good!

Pros: fast, free wifi, college town burger joint vibe

Cons: only one vegan option

Best veggie burger!

This is the best vegan burger I've ever had. I think it is their only vegan option, but it's phenomenal. It's made in-house and you can really tell. They have plenty of vegan toppings to add, and you can enjoy it with sweet potato or regular fries.

Although I'd love if places had tons of vegan options, this place is proof that even if restaurants have only one awesome vegan option- I'll be a frequent customer.
