Brewbot

If you're looking for a knock-down bargain brunch, check out Brewbot on a Sunday afternoon - gorgeous avocado on sourdough with sundried tomato and rocket salad. For a fiver (leaving plenty of change for beer)! There are also lots of Mexican inspired veggie options - some of which can be veganized. They are always working on new recipes, including a sweet potato burger served for a Bank Holiday Monday barbeque. The main evening menu is also great, including vegetarian sharing platters, nachos, sandwiches and pasties.

I was expecting to hate it, but I love it! Brewbot is awesome - it's just a super relaxed, refreshingly different and totally stupendous spot. The Ormeau Road has been waiting a long time for such an individual bar. In fact, Belfast has been waiting a long time for such a place. It's a bar which specialises in beer, beer, beer and........oh yeah beer! Every beer you can think of or dream up. I recommend their 'beer platter' - my term, not theirs (can't remember it's official name). A four or eight glass sample platter of their regularly changing tap beers. Staff are lovely, easy going and helpful when I first visited they mentioned they intended to have a 'rotating' kitchen - lots of different restaurants and caterers guest visit, hence food would be constantly changing. That hasn't happened yet so I'm not sure if they ever will serve food, however Brewbot is still delightful and just so fresh and wonderfully different. I only ever visit for a beverage and there are lots of places to dine at on the Ormeau Road anyway where a veggie meal could be obtained. My wine days are over - bring on the beer appreciation! If I'm thinking of going for a drink in South Belfast my first choice is now Brewbot. On my last visit I noticed they had started a range of beer based cocktails which are absolutely delicious - a must try.
